Skills In Demand Visa (SiD) program for GPs Doctor Connect welcomes confirmation that Specialist General Practitioners will now be on this new visa stream. If you have MICGP, or MRCGP(CCT), you can now access DPA GP jobs, including DPA exemptions, on the Expedited Pathway as well. Noting that "Applications for the TSS visa closed on 6 December 2024. We will process all outstanding applications lodged before then in line with existing arrangements." It’s one thing to envision, but an even prouder moment to see it become a reality. The Doctor Connect team were lucky to catch up with Dr Kavita, Pilbara’s latest locum GP at Perth Airport as she headed up to her posting in Karratha. Dr Kavita brings broad medical experience from her time spent working in Australia, the UK, New Zealand, Ireland and France. We have no doubt that her Pilbara patients will benefit from Dr Kavita’s experience and knowledge over the coming months. We are proud to say this connection came from a referral, and we were able to meet the requirements and facilitate a supportive practice and overall package. The Doctor Connect Registration team were able to ensure that AHPRA and Medicare Provider Number requirements happened in a relatively quick time, and then, it was a matter of confirming flights, and packing the bags. We’re glad to be connecting excellent Doctors with great communities in need. Wishing Dr Kavita all the very best and we look forward to following your journey.

I remember when Perth had a population of around 1 million people (I'm not that old!), now its 2.3 million! And, I'm glad to have a fabulous colleague, Samran who was one of the 81k who moved here last year.
