🌍 Water Matters: Comparing the Sustainability of Energy Sources 💧 Did you know that generating 1 MWh of electricity with coal can consume up to 6,700 litres of water, while solar uses just a fraction? At Clima, we’re committed to driving sustainability and transparency across the net zero journey. Our recent analysis highlights the water intensity of traditional energy sources compared to renewables: 🔹 Coal Power: High operational and lifecycle water usage (4,150–6,700 litres/MWh). 🔹 Natural Gas: Moderate consumption (1,950–3,300 litres/MWh). 🔹 Solar Power: A clear winner, with minimal operational needs and lifecycle usage of only 1,107–1,215 litres/MWh. Water is a precious resource, and its usage must be considered in the broader sustainability conversation. By transitioning to renewable energy solutions like solar, we can drastically reduce water consumption while lowering carbon footprints. The amount of waste we collected was staggering, but the impact of our efforts was even greater. It shows the transformation that is possible through collective action and commitment to our environment Huge thanks to Ocean Crusaders for leading the charge and showing that every effort counts. For the next two days, the Clima team will join forces with Ocean Crusaders, Sydney Showground, Wanless Waste Management & Quayclean Australia Pty Ltd amongst others to clear more rubbish.
