  • Albany's Mounts precinct will soon be connected to the town centre via a shared path, facilitating a safe and accessible route for active transport users. The City of Albany was successful in securing funding from the Department of Transport’s Western Australian Bicycle Network grants program to support construction of the Marine Drive Mounts Access Pathway. The pathway will allow individuals to walk, wheel or ride across town, along Brunswick Street up to Apex Drive traversing through Marine Drive and Forts Road, aligning with the Mounts Master Plan. This new path link will significantly improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists and establish a crucial connection for visitors commuting from the Port or CBD to the esteemed National Anzac Centre. Scheduled to commence construction in January and conclude by late April 2024, the City anticipates the positive impact this path will have on community safety, connectivity, and well-being.
