Building Relationships with Local Councils We're in Tamworth right now supporting the 2024 LGNSW Annual Conference as a trade sponsor and networking with local government councillors, general managers and other key decision makers. This event is a key part of our work to promote our member businesses and the caravan and camping, manufactured housing and land lease living industries. With housing a major issue on most councils’ agenda, there is lots of interest in land lease communities as an affordable housing choice. If you’re here, come and visit us at Stand 30 for a chat. We look forward to working with councils and members to create more development opportunities. #LGNSW2024 #LGNSWCONFERENCE #HOUSING #CARAVAN #CAMPING #LANDLEASE

One of our key roles as the peak industry body in NSW is to promote the caravan & camping lifestyle. Our Canberra Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo will be held this Friday, 25 to Sunday, 27 October 2024, at Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) and offers a premier opportunity for the industry to come together and showcase the latest product innovations and holiday trends all in one place. While consumers today can research products and experiences online, the Expo provides a unique platform for them to see, touch and compare products in person and gain expert insights, while newcomers can gain confidence through the educational seminars and towing demonstrations delivered. With over 140 exhibitors and an anticipated 16,000 attendees, the Expo is also set to be a significant event for the local economy. Very pleased to share that at our 2024 Annual General Meeting and State Meeting at Rosehill today, members voted unanimously to posthumously elect Theo Whitmont as a Life Member of the Association in recognition of his long and meritorious service to the industry. Theo is the 8th Life Member of CCIA NSW – an honour given only to those who have made significant contributions to the success of the industry and the Association over many years. Theo had served on our Board of Directors since 2006. He was President of our Association from 2009 to 2020 and Treasurer from 2020 to 2024. Theo also served on the Board of BIG4 Holiday Parks from 2016 to 2024. During his 30+ years in the caravan and camping and land lease living industries, Theo contributed so much and touched the lives of so many people. He led our Association with incredible passion and strategic thinking. His dedication to achieving positive legislative reform in NSW created a better business environment in which industry could achieve its maximum potential. Theo will be missed by so many, and will forever be remembered as a strong industry leader, a kind and caring mentor and friend, and a loving and devoted family man. #CCIA #CaravanIndustry #Leadership #VisitorEconomy

Another great day of training is on for members of the Association today. As part of our suite of programs delivered exclusively for members, today we’re delivering an online workshop on Boosting Sales in a Challenging Economic Environment. While there is still demand for caravan and camping experiences and the land lease living lifestyle, we can’t rest on our laurels. With softening economic conditions impacting all businesses, mastering the art of sales is more crucial than ever. This workshop teaches members the sales strategies and skills needed to thrive, no matter the market conditions. #Caravan #Camping #SalesTips #Leadership

Very pleased to be a guest of SkillsIQ at the 2024 Skal International Mid-Winter Ball and hear The Hon. John Graham, MLC, speak about the value and importance of tourism, arts and the nighttime economy in NSW. His promise to roll back restrictive regulation and red tape is welcome news and wholeheartedly agree with the goal of ensuring visitors to NSW have the best experiences possible. The revised NSW Visitor Economy Strategy will be a key driver and CCIA NSW has been advocating for a stronger focus on Regional NSW and visitor dispersal. With caravan and camping the biggest accommodator of holiday nights in Regional NSW the sector deserves a stronger focus and initiatives to keep building on the skills and capabilities needed to reach new heights. #SkalSydney #SkalAustralia #VisitorEconomy #Caravan #Camping
