  • Recently, we were asked to run a DiSC session for 95 people. Although adapting the session was challenging, we were extremely pleased with the outcome. The adaptation required some deep thought due to the nature of the interactivity and movement needed within the learning space. Utilising the amazing outdoor space cleverly enabled the first activity to run smoothly. It got people moving and interacting with others, triggered by certain questions about their DiSC preferences. We also had an activity that we could not run in the room with the numbers but by turning that activity into an interview-styled session - everyone got to hear some critical information about others they worked with. The session led to some other work the client was pursuing. We had people participate and share that don't often participate at the level they did. We had lots of laughter and some clever conversations to build the team's dynamics. #teamdynamics #teambuilding #everythingdisc

  • DiSC is such a strong tool that helps us understand how we work. This understanding allows you to understand others in your workplace and team better. The benefit is a team that is more effective and more collaborative. #disctraining #discworkshops #everythingdisc #discaustralia

  • Last night I was privileged to attend my daughters' school's HSC Drama and Dance Showcase. This evening can be "interesting" to say the least. Well, I was blown away watching these boys and girls' talent. My daughter was part of a trio performing a "Group Devised" piece. They write it, block it, conceptualise it, refine it, and of course perform it. So what? Well, these three girls are close friends and they decided early in the process that they would not let friendship get in the way of this stressful project. They agreed on roles. They agreed there would be no lead role. They agreed that their friendship was more important. Today I have been thinking about the maturity they have shown and how businesses could take a lesson from their approach. Lesson 1: Know your strengths Lesson 2: Know your team's strengths Lesson 3: Trust each other Their group devised was outstanding (trust me I am a hard marker) - the trust they had in each other shone through their performance. #teamdevelepment #teamwork #trust

  • One of the greatest insights from some latest research is the disconnect between how people managers and individual contributors are feeling, whether it is the levels of boredom and stress they report or the perception of how challenged they feel at work. A whopping 90% of people managers agreed that they ensure their direct reports are adequately challenged, while only 33% of individual contributors shared that they feel challenged by their work. That is a massive discrepancy that could be perpetuating symptoms of boreout in your organization. Creating opportunities for managers to participate in management and leadership development training is a way to empower them to learn new ways to lead their teams, grounded in trust and empowerment vs. micromanagement and control and can improve the symptoms that lead to boreout. Feeling challenged at work is a key element of personal and professional growth, promoting engagement, creativity, and innovation, all crucial factors in feeling connected to your organization’s purpose. It also supports career advancement while benefiting the organization through improved performance. hashtag #leadershipdeveleopment hashtag #managertraining hashtag #employeedevelopment
