About us
Buru Energy is an oil and gas producer and explorer with its core area of activity in the in the northwest Western Australia in the onshore Canning and Carnarvon basins. The Company is also actively participating in the new energy economy with interests in natural hydrogen, CCS and battery minerals. The Company has a 50% operating interest in the currently producing, Ungani Oilfield and holds interests in an extensive portfolio of petroleum exploration permits covering approximately 5.5 million gross acres (3.53 million net acres) in the Canning Basin. Buru Energy is the largest acreage holder in the Canning Basin and is operator of all of its exploration permits. Buru's dominant acreage position in the onshore Canning Basin, backed up by its production from the Ungani Oilfield, strong cashflow and large underexplored resources, provide a platform for significant value creation for its shareholders.

Today, Buru Energy released its Quarterly Report for the period ended 30 September 2024. Buru's CEO, Thomas Nador, commented "Buru’s priority project and primary focus is developing a compelling foundation gas and condensate (diesel replacement) business in the Kimberley, underpinned by the 100% owned Rafael conventional wet gas discovery – the Rafael Project. Mr Nador also acknowledged and thanked Mr Eric Streitberg who retired as Chair and Director of Buru Energy on 15 August, and welcomed Mr David Maxwell as the independent Non-executive Chair. Buru Energy is thrilled to announce drilling of the Rafael Shallow 1 well has commenced this morning at 09:00 (AWST). The well, located in Western Australia’s onshore Canning Basin, is being drilled with new Joint Venture partners, Twinsouth Holdings Pty Ltd and Jingie Investments Ptd Ltd using the Silver City Drilling Rig 24. Buru’s CEO, Thomas Nador, said “This will be the first well drilled in the Canning Basin since 2021, the year in which Buru discovered Rafael (deep).
