This year, our Queensland communities received some of the most generous Giving Tree donations we have ever seen. The Sales and Information Centres at Amara in Ormeau, Harmony on the Sunshine Coast, and Covella in Greenbank received generous donations of household staples to share with BABI Youth & Family Service, an organisation that dedicates itself to providing housing options for young individuals and families at risk of homelessness. The UDIA NSW recently published its Urban Icon December Issue, featuring our very own General Manager People and Culture Colette O'Reilly. In this article she discusses what diversity, equity and inclusion mean for us at AVID. At AVID we focus on two main areas our people and our customers; we try to instill in our people a strong focus on taking personal accountability for driving their career development. We encourage them to be curious, focus on the solutions, open to change, and most importantly collaborative, Ms O’Reilly said. Our diverse workforce positions us to better understand, reflect, and represent the voice of our customers when it comes to product design and service delivery. We can leverage the unique backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and ideas of our people, it has helped us to be more mindful of the requirements of our diverse customer base. Recently Colette accepted the award for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the 2024 Leadership Excellence Awards for UDIA NSW. Last Friday the Sydney AVID team held their Christmas Party at 12 Micron in Barangaroo. Dressed in all white the team celebrated together, with inspiring words from Cameron Holt as he reflected on a busy and rewarding year for AVID and the team. It was a wonderful way to close off a big year, we cannot wait to see what 2025 brings.

Last month, our Greenbank community Covella, a joint venture with Greenfields Development Company , was awarded Residential Subdivision of the Year at the UDIA Queensland Awards for Excellence. UDIA’s Establish magazine featured a spread that showcased exactly why this community is an award winner.   Comments from the judging panel praised the design of the community, which embraces the natural attributes of the space and is cleverly complemented by a network of pathways connecting the community green spaces, saying “The development has been planned, designed, purposefully built, and integrated into the community with a focus on creating a place to call home.” “Covella works extensively to build meaningful social connections, which is the backbone to driving success not only through project sales but in the projects’ ability to facilitate change in the community.”   We are delighted that the efforts of the whole Covella team have been recognised, and we look forward to sharing more exciting updates as the community continues to grow and develop further.

At AVID we love the chance to get together, unwind, and acknowledge all the amazing things we have achieved throughout the year.    Last Friday we kicked off the festive season in style with the Melbourne Christmas Party taking place at the Rooftop Bar of Farmer's Daughters. The team gathered to celebrate a busy and rewarding year!   Next to follow suit are our Sydney and Queensland teams who will each celebrate over the next couple of weeks.   We are looking forward to everything 2025 has to offer AVID and our people!

Earlier this week our Victorian team spent two days networking with peers and industry leaders at the Melbourne Retirement Village & Resort Expo.   The team was able to showcase the progress of our new Vantage Bloomdale resort-style community including its exclusive amenities and luxury design with interested buyers, future residents, and industry peers.   We look forward to sharing Vantage Bloomdale at more events like this soon, to learn more about the community and land lease living visit the website - https://lnkd.in/gD6hSu8z

Last month our Covella Community celebrated the opening of its sixth park, Tivoli Park. The Hoedown themed event was a crowd favourite with over 1200 attendees wearing their finest cowboy hats and boots. “Whether you want a quiet moment with nature, a game of handball in the park or just to get the family out and about, Covella’s Tivoli Park will be the perfect spot for everyone to enjoy.” - Bruce Harper AVID Executive General Manager.
