The December 2024 edition of Australian Geomechanics is available online to all members of the Australian Geomechanics Society. This themed issue compiles technical papers on assessment and management of Mine Subsidence issues, including case histories. Those contributions are complemented with two papers covering analysis of short piles for solar farms and a framework for rapid landslide risk assessment. As Editor of the journal, I would like to extend a big thanks to all contributors, peer-reviewers, and to John Johnston that championed and co-edited this special issue of the journal. A reminder that themed issues on Digital Geotechnics and Australian Tailings Geotechnical Engineering are planned for 2025 and there is still time to submit contributions. Details for submission are available on the journal. https://lnkd.in/gs6iEejR #MineSubsidence #DigitalGeotechnics #TailingsGeotechnicalEngineering
