The ACCP is delighted to be working with team on this project and proud to be leading the development of the National Office for Child Safety's Framework.
The need for cultural centring in therapeutic responses for children and young people who display harmful sexual behaviours (HSB) was explored by participants from across Queensland during yesterday's consultation led by the Lumenia team hosted by PeakCare Queensland. This session and others delivered by our blended Australian Centre for Child Protection (Amanda Paton, Sian Burgess, Emily Russell, Amanda Morgan) and Durham University (Simon Hackett) team will inform Attorney-General's Department's National Office for Child Safety's Framework. The Framework will support evidence and culturally informed clinical and therapeutic practice that enables healing for children and families who are navigating HSB. Thank you to PeakCare Queensland for hosting this important conversation, and to all participants who have shared their expertise to shape this work.
