Ausbil is honoured to be a member of the Investors Against Slavery and Trafficking Asia Pacific (IAST APAC), which was recently recognised with a Principles for Responsible Investment Award for its work in human rights. This award from the PRI highlights the innovative approach of IAST APAC – a collaborative, investor-led initiative aimed at identifying, addressing, and preventing modern slavery within operations and supply chains across the Asia Pacific region. Ausbil has been on the IAST APAC steering committee since its inception in 2020 and has a long-standing history in combatting modern slavery, including chairing RIAA's Human Rights Working Group, being the investor voice on the Modern Slavery Experts Advisory Panel and appointed to PRI's Human Rights and Social Issues Reference Group. Ausbil would like to take this opportunity to recognise and congratulate our fellow Steering Committee members and Knowledge Partners – Aware Super, AustralianSuper, First Sentier Investors, Fidelity International, Australian Council of Superannuation Investors, Walk Free and Finance Against Slavery & Trafficking and all the IAST research members for their commitment and contribution to this important work. Co-head of Emerging Companies and Co-Portfolio Manager of the Ausbil Australian SmallCap & MicroCap Fund, Arden Jennings, CFA Jennings recently sat down with Livewire Markets' Ally Selby to talk all things small-caps. In this podcast, Jennings outlines strategies to dominate small-cap investments by drawing parallels with how Roger Federer excels in tennis. Key points include focusing on winning rather than achieving perfection, similar to how Federer handled his game by not obsessing over every shot. In investment terms, this means cutting losses, adhering to our strict 4-stage investment process, and maintaining a forward-looking perspective. It emphasises the importance of not becoming overly attached to stocks, treating them merely as points in the game, and concentrating on those that significantly boost overall performance.
