📣 ANNOUNCEMENT: AUKUS Partners progress submarine build plan The Australian Submarine Agency, BAE Systems and ASC have signed a Tasking Statement, a contractual agreement that supports the joint development of a build strategy, supply chain management plans and a workforce development strategy. The tasking Statement is a significant milestone that will support the delivery of Australia’s conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines for the Royal Australian Navy. “SSN AUKUS is a multi-national, multi-generational program through which ASC will invest in developing the critical skills required to build a nuclear submarine fleet in Australia. It’s hard to imagine, but the children at school today will be the ones building our submarine fleet of tomorrow,” says Stuart Whiley, ASC CEO and Managing Director. “The program is anticipated to generate thousands of highly skilled jobs over its lifetime.” Find your deeper purpose at ASC 👉 https://lnkd.in/eUm98NkJ

29 years ago today, on December 15, 1995, HMAS Farncomb was launched at the Osborne shipyards – a historic milestone for both the boat and ASC’s workforce. Although HMAS Farncomb is the second boat in the Collins Class submarines fleet, it was the first submarine to be fully constructed in Australia. This launch ceremony marked the start of the boat’s next chapter and was a significant moment to celebrate the growth of our growing submarine expertise here in Australia. Fast forward to today, and HMAS Farncomb is gearing up for the next phase. As the first of the six Collins Class submarines to undergo the Life of Type Extension (LOTE) program, HMAS Farncomb will receive new or refurbished key systems, ensuring it remains a potent and reliable asset for the Royal Australian Navy well into the 2030s. Sound like a program you want to be a part of? Find your deeper purpose at ASC today 🔗https://lnkd.in/eUm98NkJ #defencecareers #icymi #throwback

We’re proud to sponsor Re-Engineering Australia’s Subs in Schools program, a national initiative that’s inspiring high school students to explore exciting careers in STEM. Our engineering graduates play an active role in this program, mentoring high school students as they design and build their own submersible Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). This hands-on experience helps our graduates develop valuable leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, all while making a real impact on the next generation of innovators. Michael, one of our Engineering Graduates, says, “it’s inspiring to see the students enthusiasm and creativity first-hand. Their achievements are impressive, they’re not just designing and building a ROV, they’re also marketing their products and forming high-performing teams.” This is just one of the many ways we’re supporting Australia’s mission to increase participation in STEM careers. #SubsInSchools #defencecareers
