Our CEO, Christian Lange, was the guest speaker at yesterday’s QUPEX final monthly luncheon for 2024.
He shared personal reflections, industry insights, and a call for transparency, leadership and improved collaboration between industry and government.
Here are some takeaways from his speech:
🔹 Call for Strong Leadership - “We ought to demand more from our political leadership…where are the experienced political leaders, who focus on diplomacy, wisdom, and long-term vision?”
🔹 On ADZ Energy's Core Philosophy - “For us, ADZ reflects interconnectedness, harmony, and continuity. Just as nature operates in cycles, businesses must recognise the need for balance between economic prosperity, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.”
🔹 Future Strategy and Commitment - “Over the next few years, we’re committed to advancing multiple exploration and development activities across all of our exploration and production tenements in Queensland, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Victoria."
🔹 Balanced and Supportive Government Policy - “Government policy, which plays a pivotal role in ensuring energy stability and security, as well as shaping the trajectory of energy markets, has to strike a balance, between regulation and the promotion of investment and innovation.”
🔹 Role of Natural Gas - “While the oil and gas industry faces significant challenges, particularly related to environmental and social issues, it has undeniably contributed improving human lives. Energy security drives economic development, enabling technological progress, it supports societal stability and the delivery of essential goods and services. Most importantly, our energy sector ensures economic stability and political as well as strategic autonomy; it’s time we accepted the inconvenient truth that regardless of ideology, gas-powered generation plays a vital role in supporting a stable and economically viable transition toward a cleaner energy future.”
🔹 Community - “As a business, I believe that it’s our role to provide community leadership, to foster engagement and lively debate. This includes respect for and working with indigenous groups and peoples, ensuring that we listen, absorb and apply their unique knowledge of our shared country; it’s our role to nurture enquiring minds, providing an open and transparent forum for learning.”
These reflections are a reminder of the values we must uphold: thoughtful leadership, sustainable growth, and a future-focused approach.
Thanks to QUPEX 2024 President Nathan Parker and the team for having us!
