We were excited to read the Australian Government’s Offshore Resources Decommissioning Roadmap and applaud its focus on environmental protection, workforce development, and industry collaboration. This framework is a vital step towards managing Australia’s offshore infrastructure responsibly while supporting the energy transition. At 11point2, we believe there’s an opportunity to take this vision even further. Repurposing enables the reuse of existing infrastructure in innovative ways, creating collaboration opportunities with industries such as renewables, defence, aquaculture, and more. By incorporating repurposing into the roadmap, we can unlock additional economic, environmental, and social benefits. We recently hosted a fun networking event with the other businesses on our floor in Tech Central to welcome new tenants and introduce some visiting international colleagues. We take the building part of team building seriously at 11point2! 🌳 🔥   Last Friday, some of our team swapped laptops for logs and spent the day out on a farm. We gathered wood, built a fire, made some scarecrows, and shared a delicious meal with our families. It was a pleasure to have Mark Ogden, CEO of 11point2, speak to the Adelaide Business School Executive MBA's Systems Thinking class last night. His topic, 'Observations of systems thinking in action' drew on case studies from 11point2's experiences. He illustrated so well how understanding a system at depth can lead to remarkable outcomes, particularly with issues that others have from intractable. He provided so much insight into the role of mental models, connecting elements and the roles of feedback loops and delays, a very robust Q&A session followed. 11point2 provides organisations with Entrepreneurship as a service. As a team passionate about creating a better shared future, we've found ourselves naturally drawn to the decommissioning challenge of the energy and resource sector. We are uncovering ways to repurpose or co-purpose these complex assets in ways that generate net-positive outcomes for our clients, our environment and our communities. We've updated our website and branding to better reflect this new focus. This doesn't mean we won't be working on the same technology-enabled projects, or stop uncovering and launching ideas that deserve to exist.
