Through our Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in #Yemen (#SIERY) Project, Dar Sa'ad local authorities finalized the construction of Al-Salam health clinic in Al-Luhoom area, Dar Sa'a, Aden. 🩺👩⚕️ This health clinic will provide community members with basic health services who otherwise would need to travel long distances to receive treatment. The construction of this health clinic was identified as a priority within the local authorities' resilience plan that was drawn out following capacity building workshops supported by the SIERY Project. This was made possible thanks to the #EUinYemen. Stay tuned to see how it will look once fully equipped.

📈 Investing in Yemen's economic recovery and growth In partnership with The World Bank - MENA, we're taking significant steps to strengthen the economy: 🔶 We've supported 5 Microfinance Institutions (MFIs), enabling them to provide essential financial services to 57,314 clients, promoting financial inclusion and entrepreneurship. 🔶 11,833 small and micro-enterprises have received grants, helping them overcome challenges, sustain operations, and create jobs within their communities. 🔶 We've supported the establishment of 345 Village Savings and Loan Associations, fostering a culture of saving, investment, and financial empowerment at the grassroots level. Our #SFISH Project with local partner SMEPS is equipping women in Hadramout with practical skills and hands-on experience in fish product processing and utilizing fish by-products, empowering them towards opportunities in the growing fishery sector 🧕🐟 Thanks to support from The World Bank - MENA.

Access to #healthcare should leave no one behind 🏥 In Yarim, Ibb Governorate, our Strengthening Institutional and Economic Resilience in Yemen (#SIERY) Project, has been supporting local authorities and community structures to establish a Kidney Dialysis Center in Yarim Public Hospital to provide care to thousands of individuals. This is made possible thanks to support from the #EUinYemen.

Protecting Yemen's communities and the environment from the impacts of climate change 🌍 In partnership with The World Bank - MENA, we've achieved significant progress: 🌾 Safeguarded around 37,000 hectares of agricultural land from floods and improved irrigation canals 💧 Constructed and improved approximately 37 km of irrigation canals ✅ Implemented around 1 million cubic meters of rainwater harvesting schemes to combat water scarcity 🏘 Protected around 300 houses from floods 🚧 Rehabilitated around 1 km of sanitation network 💪 Provided around 214,000 people with improved access to safe sanitation and clean water Together with local partners Social Fund for Development, @PWPYemen, and SMEPS #ClimateAction #YECRP #ESPECRP #FSRRP
