Today, November 15th, at COP29, the Government of Grenada, Seabased Ltd., and SIDS DOCK came together to sign a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding. This partnership launches an innovative wave energy pilot project that promises to transform the energy landscape for Small Island Developing States (SIDS), paving the way for a more sustainable and resilient future. Under the leadership of 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐊𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐧𝐞 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬, Minister of Climate Resilience, the Environment, and Renewable Energy, we have relentlessly pursued a diverse and bold renewable energy strategy. Having worked on this project for over a year, I am proud to see it reach this milestone. Our commitment to ocean-based renewable energy as a key driver of climate resilience and emissions reduction is now becoming a reality. The signing, held at the KPMG/REA Stand in the Blue Zone, marks a significant step forward in our mission to leverage the immense and predictable power of our oceans. By integrating wave energy into Grenada’s renewable energy mix, alongside solar and geothermal, we are setting a powerful example for island nations worldwide. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners, Seabased Ltd. and SIDS DOCK, for their unwavering collaboration and shared vision. Together, we are making bold strides toward a low-carbon future and inspiring a wave of climate action. #COP29 #WaveEnergy #RenewableEnergy #ClimateAction #Sustainability #Grenada #BlueEconomy #SIDS #EnergyResilience This is just the beginning.
