  • Why isn't remote work more widely available in Ireland, despite its growing potential? Despite the rise of fully distributed jobs, many opportunities remain concentrated in urban areas, leaving rural communities with limited access. The core issue lies in outdated systems and infrastructure. Current job platforms and applicant tracking systems were designed for office-based roles, not remote work. Companies often advertise remote jobs within narrow geographic limits—such as a specific country or timezone—which excludes many talented candidates from other regions. Furthermore, global companies like GitLab, Zapier, and Doist, which hire from anywhere, are not widely known in local communities. Traditional job advertising methods and platforms don’t effectively reach people in rural areas. This systemic challenge is why Grow Remote exists—to address these barriers and ensure that fully distributed jobs are available to communities across Ireland and beyond. Ready to make a difference? Join our Learning Remote and Hybrid Teams course to help bridge the gap and create thriving, accessible remote opportunities. https://buff.ly/3P4cC86 #growremote #remotework #futureofwork

  • "Overcrowded cities on one side, declining rural areas on the other, doesn't it feel like something’s off? Fully distributed work could be the answer. When jobs don't tie people to an office, they can work from where they live. This simple shift has the potential to transform rural and regional areas, bringing powerful social and economic benefits: Communities revitalized with flourishing local businesses. Less commuting, meaning reduced traffic and environmental impact. More time for volunteering, family, and local engagement. But change like this doesn't happen automatically. Many remote jobs are still concentrated in urban hubs, leaving rural communities out of the picture. At Grow Remote, we’re working to make fully distributed work a reality everywhere, ensuring opportunities reach the places that need them most. Want to help drive this change? Check out our course, Leading Remote and Hybrid Teams, and be part of building thriving communities, no matter where they are. https://buff.ly/3P4cC86 #remotework #stopthecommute #futureofwork #growremote
