FoodCloud is delighted to join forces with Coca-Cola HBC Ireland and Northern Ireland and Tesco Ireland once again for the return of the ‘Win a Meal, Give a Meal’ campaign, now in its third consecutive year. This impactful initiative invites Tesco customers to get involved by simply texting DONATE to 50400 (free of charge) before 31st December. Each text not only enters participants into a draw to win one of ten €500 Tesco Gift Cards but also contributes directly to FoodCloud’s work, with €1 donated by Coca-Cola HBC for every text received. In 2023, the campaign delivered the equivalent of 70,000 meals, helping us provide support to communities across Ireland. Big thanks to Coca-Cola HBC for their ongoing partnership, over the past four years, their support has included more than €125,000 in donations, equating to 385,000 meals distributed, as well as backing our Food Sourcing Strategy, which aims to reduce 5,100 tonnes of food waste annually by 2025. We’re very grateful to Tesco Ireland, whose 11-year partnership with FoodCloud has made a huge impact, saving the equivalent of over 20 million meals from going to waste and supporting hundreds of charities across the country. https://bit.ly/3DiVSaI #WinAMealGiveAMeal #FoodWasteReduction #CocaColaHBC #TescoIreland #SustainableCommunities #FoodCloud Sheena Forde Tom Burke Samuel Watkins

We’re celebrating a milestone – 10 years since the opening of our Cork Hub! Over the past decade, the incredible support from food donors, charities, and the community has helped us achieve amazing things across Munster. Together, we’ve redistributed 3,833 tonnes of surplus food, supported 250 charities and community groups, and partnered with 25 frequent food donors to reduce food waste and fight food insecurity. This impact wouldn’t be possible without the generosity and dedication of everyone involved. As we reflect on the past ten years, we’re reminded of how much can be achieved through collaboration and shared purpose. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey – we couldn’t have done it without you. #10YearsOfImpact #ThankYou #FoodWasteReduction Tesco Ireland Lucozade Ribena Suntory Iverk Produce Coca-Cola HBC Lidl Ireland Aldi Ireland Irish Yogurts Musgrave MarketPlace BWG Foods UC Kepak Group Green Circle Growers North Cork Creameries Ltd Tirlán Mars PRM Group McColgans Ornua innocent drinks Sysco Primeline Group Nestlé Kellogg Company Fyffes Lakeland Dairies Oakland International Limited Barry Group. The Naked Market UpField Group Unilever Nordzucker AG Ballymaloe Foods Horgan's Delicatessen Supplies Ltd. 🌍 COP 29: Progress made, but challenges remain Key takeaways: 🌐 The Baku Accord pledges $300 billion annually in climate finance by 2035. 🍽️ Food, agriculture, and water featured on Day 9 – yet sustainable food systems remain critically underfunded. 📝 30 countries signed the Reducing Methane from Organic Waste Declaration, a step towards tackling emissions from organic waste. While these are positive strides, much more is needed to address the climate crisis, particularly the impact of food systems on emissions, biodiversity, and deforestation. 🔗 Discover more about COP 29 and the road ahead: https://lnkd.in/dkEgeMsd #COP29 #ClimateAction #SustainableFoodSystems #FoodWaste

Food waste law, policy and food businesses getting started on surplus food donation in Ireland. A great morning here at Richmond Barracks hearing from panellists Brian Quirke, Odile Le Bolloch, Jeni Meade. This was a fantastic opportunity to hear from experts about the latest from Brussels on amendments to the Waste Framework Directive, and to hear from food business owners on the front line of operations, food waste reduction and making donations happen to achieve social and environmental impacts. Key takeaways: • 750,000 tonnes of food waste in Ireland annually that’s 280 bin trucks going down your street EVERY DAY! • Hot from the EU Food Loss and Waste Platform meeting - negotiations on binding food waste reduction targets are progressing with further discussions likely to occur before the end of the year. • If you haven’t already - sign up to Ireland’s voluntary Food Waste Charter. • Don’t let perfection be the enemy of action - start where you are with your food waste data measurement… targets can always be recalibrated. • See surplus as an opportunity… think prevention, valorization, then donation! • There’s never been a better time nor more momentum in Ireland… watch this space for a schedule of more surplus food seminars coming your way in 2025. Thank you to all of the participants today Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, and to attendees for making this such a rich update. #flw, #unsdg123 #circulareconomy #FoodWaste #FoodSurplus #SustainableFood #FoodDonation #WasteReduction #EnvironmentalImpact #SocialImpact #FoodBusinesses #WasteFrameworkDirective #Sustainability #CommunityImpact #FoodPolicy
