The Ducks were a little nervous stepping outside our B2B comfort zone, but it was a really positive reminder that our process works....listening to the client! 👂 Branding and design processes don't have to be drawn-out, lengthy and expensive projects. We find that actually listening to the client, their brief, their ambitions can go a long way. ⚡ Start-ups, scale-ups, entrepreneurs and people running their own businesses don't have time to immerse themselves in 6 month projects or 100 slide decks.     This is me! I’m 48 today & I’m introducing my new name & logo. My first mentor & dear friend Jackie Gowran has been nudging me to work on this since I met her 5 years ago!! I did my Cantillona Design logo myself when I had THE most b-a-s-I-c skills in illustrator. I had figured out how to draw a circle, change the colour, add an outline & some lettering. I was chuffed to bits with it because it took me ages to figure out how to do just that. But neither the name nor the design really say very much about me! Working with my new mentor Aideen Bodkin - she challenged me again to work on it. So this time around armed with a body of work on voice, tone, colours & ideas, I turned to my friend Lisa Raftery and her branding agency DuckRow&Co to magic up something for me. And I LOVE what the came up with! This time I’m going to go by Audrey Cantillon. Simple! It’s my name. It’s me. With a play on the AUD. Because most people who know me, call me Aud. And I’m really happy to own it. I’m happy in myself & my skin, and maybe the 5 years it took me to get to this point is the time it’s taken me to slowly shed my imposter syndrome & grow. Lisa & Adam listened to me. And when my ideas were too limiting & hard, we chatted & bounced, and I asked them to forget the suggestions I had made & to let their creative juices flow. I’m so glad we did that. I’m so glad they told me that my idea was causing stress because I realised that where there is friction like that, it’s wrong. It should slide effortlessly & feel easy n seamless, and maybe that’s in part why I was never able to execute it myself. This feels like a juicy collaboration that we completed in a couple of weeks, my old friend Lisa who knows me sooooo well & my new friend Adam who I hope to collaborate with again. I’ll be updating things bit by bit. It’s a lot when you’re a one woman show!
