The “unexpected CEO”........ I like it! I’ve been recovering from my Olympics high, which is why I’m a bit late with this one, but I really want to give a shout-out to Tom Lyons for the recent interview for The Currency Great interviewers get you thinking about stuff in new ways, which is exactly what Tom did here. And we covered a lot of ground. Some tough decisions and very difficult times. In fact, when I look back now, I almost can’t believe how much was going on, and for so long. It makes me feel even more grateful for all the people who have stood by us and championed us as Ardale and Core have grown to where they are today. You know who you are! It also makes me even more excited for the future. So watch this space - a new venture is on the horizon. And we can’t wait. Last Friday my client Emma Maye won the Image Overall Business Woman Of the Year award. To say she was shocked and had no idea it was going to happen is a huge understatement. I was lucky enough to be there when her name was read out at the Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge. Emma is a great example of resilience, intelligence and creativity in action. Her husband and business partner, Alan Hegarty, is also an important part of her success. (Behind every great woman... ;) ) Success is never a straight line and is never easy. There are plenty of tough days when you run a business. Being recognised like this is very special indeed and something to be savoured. Hats off to Image and PwC Ireland for a very slick event.
