Allianz Ireland hosted an amazing event recently - when The Shona Project came to our offices in Elm Park. Allianz, along with a number of high-profile companies, has provided mentors to The Shonda Project which aims to empower teenage girls to live up to their potential by focusing on kindness, mindset, resilience and confidence. The girls on the day were paired with the mentors, including several of our own Allianz team and heard from business leaders and The Shona Project CEO Tammy Darcy Natalie Keogh Ann Kelleher

Last week, we were delighted to support and be a part of the inaugural Children & Sport Conference established Sport for Business and Rob Hartnett. Bringing together representatives from the worlds of sport, business, and education, the conference aims to provide a space to explore both local and international activities enabling children to become more active and learn a greater enjoyment of sport.   As one of the largest supporters of sport in Ireland as well as the largest insurers of schools nationally, we’ve seen first-hand the positive impact sport can have on the lives of all, but particularly on children and young people. But despite sport being a central part of our national identity, we know that 1 in 5 children stop participating in sport when transitioning from primary to secondary school.    Our #StopTheDrop campaign aims to help shine a spotlight on that very issue and to support with driving forward the conversation around it.   Our Head of Market Management Mark Brennan joined the line up for the day to share more about our #StopTheDrop campaign and the work we’re doing in this space as well as what role brands can, and should, take when it comes to important societal issues.
