We believe true inclusion is more than just policies—it's about meaningful action. We're proud to share the inspiring journey of Conor, a young ABM team member with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and the outstanding support provided by Catherine Harrington, our Site Manager at Waterford University Hospital, in helping him transition into the workforce. For Conor, stepping into the workforce wasn’t just a new chapter; it was a leap into the unknown. For his family, it came with hopes and fears. But with patience, understanding, and a genuine commitment to inclusion, Catherine worked closely with Conor and his family to create a supportive, empowering environment. Catherine and her team ensured that Conor felt valued and included every step of the way. By providing consistent support, structured tasks, and an environment that suited his strengths, Conor gained independence, confidence, and new skills—transforming this opportunity into a meaningful experience. This story is a testament to the power of understanding, collaboration, and the commitment to making workplaces accessible for all. Conor's mother Amanda Smith said: "As a mother, I’ve always wanted to protect Conor, especially in unfamiliar situations. Catherine and her team didn’t just give him a job—they created a space where he could grow, feel valued, and find his confidence. Seeing him thrive has been one of the greatest joys of my life." 💜 #IDPD2024 #InclusionMatters #ABMIreland #Accessibility #Diversityandinclusion

He says: "Smart buildings create adaptive environments that respond to health needs, particularly in critical spaces like healthcare facilities, schools, and public areas.
