From June 19th to 23rd, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia organized a conference for honorary consuls, attended by nearly 120 Estonian honorary consuls from around the world. On Friday, June 21st, 2024, the consuls visited Tartu, the European Capital of Culture for 2024. The event, held at the University of Tartu's Delta Center, also invited four Estonian small enterprises to showcase their development projects and activities related to the development of a smart and sustainable urban environment, "Smart City". Kaido Lainjärv, Strategy Director of TrackDeep OÜ, introduced the consuls to a development project in collaboration with the Tallinn City Government. The project's aim is to experimentally determine the optimal placement scheme for drone monitoring sensor infrastructure necessary for the creation of Tallinn's U-space. A smart city uses technologies to achieve transportation and environmental goals in an environment with a growing population. TrackDeep OÜ believes that the introduction of drones in urban transportation would help reduce carbon dioxide and other harmful emissions in the urban space, significantly decrease ground traffic congestion, and expedite the movement of goods and people between different parts of the city. We are striving to make Tallinn one of the first capital cities in Europe where drone services will be provided even in densely populated areas. The launch of the TrackDeep Ltd. Tallinn City U-Space ground-based drone sensor network project has been initiated. On January 16, 2023, the kickoff meeting of the project took place in the Tallinn Strategic Management Office. Participants included representatives from the Transport Administration of the Republic of Estonia, The Estonian Air Navigation Services, the Estonian Aviation Academy, and the Tallinn Strategic Management Office.
