Radar Satellite Monitoring for Future
About us
KappaZeta focuses on delivering easily usable vegetation monitoring solutions for agriculture, carbon sequestration, crop insurance and forestry. We help our clients to save resources by providing actionable information they can trust. KappaZeta’s expertise is in using SAR (radar) satellite data, incorporating it with optical satellite data and providing some of the most accurate AI models on the market. * Successful projects delivered to European Space Agency, Government Agencies, Agriculture & Crop Insurance companies. * One of the few companies to have extensive know-how of SAR technology in the world - crucial for loss adjustment purposes. * Strong scientific background - 1/3 of the team are PhDs. Feel free to email our business development manager, Jürgen Lina – jurgen.lina@kappazeta.ee. We can schedule a call and map our common interests. Once again, the KappaZeta business development team is stronger than ever. We’re excited to welcome Erik Ehasoo as the business development lead for our 3D-SAR services. His goal will be to turn our 3D-SAR space mission services into a commercial success. We met Erik in the CASSINI business accelerator programme, where he was our lead coach. We can say that we were 150% successful – on top of successfully graduating the programme, we gained a key member of our team.

KappaZeta's Catherine Akinyi and Tanya Shtym presented the final results of the AI tillage project to the European Space Agency - ESA today. Within the project, we developed AI models capable of detecting both conventional and conservation tillage across the Baltic Sea region using freely available satellite imagery. The models delivered promising results, with F1 scores ranging from 83-95%. Interested in learning more? 👉 Reach out to Catherine Akinyi. A big thank you to Zoltan Szantoi and Ewelina Dobrowolska for guidance and helpful advice throughout the project! The activity AI-based tillage detection for improved agricultural and climate policies was carried out under a programme of, and funded by, the European Space Agency.

Remote sensing data is powerful. KappaZeta's strength lies in working with radar data, but when we combine it with optical imagery from satellites like Sentinel-2A and Sentinel-2B, our machine learning models achieve new heights of accuracy and predictive power. 🌍📡 With the newly-launched Sentinel-2C soon joining the Copernicus program, there’s a tremendous opportunity to increase revisit frequency, improve performance, and deliver even more precise insights to our clients. Having three optical satellites in orbit together – Sentinel-2A, Sentinel-2B, and Sentinel-2C – would be highly beneficial due to the increased revisit frequency. But there’s a challenge: due to budget constraints, the Copernicus program plans to decommission Sentinel-2A once Sentinel-2C becomes fully operational. This would limit the potential of having all three satellites active at the same time. We believe Sentinel-2A still has a lot to offer. We support the petition that urges the Copernicus program to extend Sentinel-2A’s operations. You can also voice your support! 👉 https://lnkd.in/gz9qVJnf 🙌 A huge congratulations to everyone involved in the successful launch of Sentinel-2C! #RemoteSensing #Copernicus #Sentinel2 #MachineLearning #EarthObservation #SatelliteData #Innovation #Petition #ExtendSentinel2A
Copernicus should keep Sentinel-2A operational after Sentinel-2C launch
