Cyber Attack - Pak Suzuki. According to anonymous resources on darkweb, there has been a recent attack on Pak Suzuki Company in Pakistan. The threat actor claims to have acquired 447 GB data and has shared sample files on social media platform confirming the data leakage. The leaked data shows that company also had conducted a Web Application VAPT. This means that Pak Suzuki was investing in security assessments. However, sometimes there are simpler attacks such as phishing which can help the threat actors to compromise all other technical layers. Details of attack TTP are still not revealed. Recommendations: Train your staff on Phishing and other social engineering attacks prevention. Ensure to review implmentation of your organisational cyber security policies in letter & spirit. Ensure MFA, ensure all passwords are refreshed for priviledged and general user accounts. Review Security baselines and configurations. Ensure all Public facing Assets are completely tested. Espionage Campaign Targets Android Users in South Asia Security researcher Lukas Štefanko has uncovered a sophisticated espionage campaign targeting Android users in South Asia. The campaign involves the distribution of malicious apps customized to evade detection and gather sensitive information from unsuspecting victims. According to research, the malicious apps utilize obfuscation techniques, emulator detection, and native library integration to conceal their malicious activities. The native library, named "defcome-lib.so," encodes and hides the "command and control" (C2) server information, making it difficult for static analysis tools to detect. Furthermore, the apps are propagated through dedicated websites and, alarmingly, even made their way onto the official Google Play store. One such website, "chitchat.ngrok[.]io," provides links to download the malicious Android package file ("ChitChat.apk"), raising concerns about the ease of access for potential victims. The primary purpose of this espionage campaign appears to be surveillance, with Štefanko suggesting that the intended targets are likely located in Pakistan and India.
