Dubai Angel Investors - DAI resumed its iconic Pitch Nights yesterday evening with a fantastic turnout of members and friends as well as three great companies and founders. Congratulations to Lara Varjabedian of UBQT, Julien Hawari of Million and Bellinda Mesbah from Garage Hero who all did a fantastic job pitching their companies to our investment committee and handled the Q&A like pros. Most significantly, we are delighted to publicly announce today a strategic partnership between Dubai Angel Investors and Middle East Venture Partners (MEVP) the oldest venture capital firm in the region headed by pioneers of the regional VC asset class. We couldn't be more thrilled to partner with Walid Hanna, Walid Mansour and Rabih I. Khoury and their team including Rafik Amrani who did a great job bringing our pitching companies together and running a great event. Under our partnership, MEVP will provide the DAI community with a comprehensive range of services including pipeline and deal flow management, deal execution, portfolio and exit management as well as assistance with capital raising and investor reporting. DAI will continue to evaluate companies and make investment decisions through its investment committee and its board of directors bringing access to its enormous network of leaders, experts and mentors in the regional business community. DAI and MEVP are both deeply committed to ensuring that entrepreneurs wishing to access pre-seed and seed stage capital can do so from a community of investors who fill the gap usually funded by angels but with the infrastructure, rigour, discipline and expertise usually reserved for institutional investors. At DAI, we have always believed that, for angel investors, this is the most effective way to invest and, for founders, a syndicate like this is the best way to unlock value creation in so many different forms over and above pure cash.
