⭐ 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗕𝗼𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟳𝟴𝟳 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 ⭐ We've maintained B787 fleets for years, and it led us to a key milestone - our first 12-year check of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner for LOT Polish Airlines, the flag carrier of Poland. The aircraft was the first in a series of LOT Polish B787s scheduled for 12-year checks. A 12-year check is one of the most extensive aircraft maintenance checks. Want to know what it takes? A lot of hard work, skill and precision. More than 300 personnel worked on the first input of the programme, completing around 1600 routine and non-routine tasks in less than 60 days, using more than 500 tools and over 1100 part numbers. Spanning several weeks, the check involved complete landing gear replacement, disassembly and reassembly of critical components, in-depth structural inspections and system overhauls, including avionics, hydraulics, and engines. Of all the initiatives we’ve undertaken this year, this one stands out as the closest to our hearts. Seeing families immerse themselves, ask questions, and share in the excitement reinforced the connections that fuel our passion. It also gave our loved ones a deeper understanding of the vital role we play in aviation. Such a memorable event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible teamwork of volunteers from various departments. Our annual 'Safety in Heat' initiative through the summer months exemplifies this commitment and has now been recognised as a benchmark for others to follow. Etihad Engineering was honoured with a best-practice award for our Safety in Heat campaign by Abu Dhabi Public Health Center - مركز أبوظبي للصحة العامة during its prestigious Safety in Heat Achievements Forum, held recently to celebrate 10 years of the programme’s success and attended by key government entities and corporate leadership. The award was received on behalf of the company by our colleagues from the QHSE team: Niall Martin, Ali El Jamal and Abdul Wahab Khan. The Etihad Engineering QHSE team organised a ceremony in the hangar to share the remarkable news with our staff whose support made this achievement possible. The future of aviation will be driven by the next generation of aviation professionals. As a part of our commitment to develop local talent and nurture the next generation of aviation professionals for the aviation industry at large, we work as vocational partners with colleges and universities across the UAE providing hands on internship opportunities at our state-of-the-art MRO facility. To acknowledge our ongoing collaboration, Etihad Engineering was invited to United Arab Emirates University's Empowering Partnership ceremony recently. Our colleagues Salama Al Mahri, HR Manager, and Ahlam Al-Zadjali, Senior Components Services Administrator, attended the ceremony and received a Certificate of Appreciation for the support and hands-on learning opportunities provided to the students at the university. An Etihad Engineering team including Recruitment Officer Arunima Jerel, Senior Components Services Administrator Ahlam Al-Zadjali and Lead Aircraft Engineer Jen Joseph, also participated in Khalifa University's Career and Internship Fair in the university's main campus in Abu Dhabi to showcase our internship programme and talk to the youth about careers in the field of aircraft maintenance. In alignment with the UAE’s sustainability goals and our commitment to the environment, we recently planted a variety of new trees - Ghaf, Jatropha and Manila Tamarind - across our MRO facility in Abu Dhabi. These young trees add to our lush tree cover and organic vegetable garden onsite and bear the names of those who planted them. Our dedicated Facilities and Gardening teams will be looking after the new arrivals as lovingly as they care for the older trees, some of which have been with us for decades. The importance of planting trees: 🌍 Trees play a vital role in improving air quality and reducing carbon footprints. 💧 They conserve water and prevent soil erosion, creating a greener, more sustainable ecosystem. 🌿 Beyond that, they represent our commitment to aligning with global environmental standards like ISO 14001, which guides our approach to managing and reducing our environmental impact.
