The Club’s Loss Prevention (LP) department provides guidance to Members across the globe. Yesterday, on behalf of the The Shipowners' Club , the General Manager of the Club’ Pascal HERRMANN and I visited the psychiatric service of the Hôpital Schuman in Luxembourg to offer a donation to this service before Christmas.    We were warmly welcomed by residents and staff who were all happy to share a friendly moment as they opened their presents. A nice taste of Christmas in advance. If a Member requires legal assistance to bring or defend a claim, our Legal Costs Cover (LCC) insurance can respond, subject to checks on merit, costs and quantum. Louise Hall, Director of Loss Prevention, Marketing and Corporate Responsibility, recently attended the ISWAN 2024 Seminar to join a panel discussion titled "The Impact of Decarbonisation on the Welfare of Seafarers". The panel engaged in conversations around how global efforts towards maritime decarbonisation are impacting seafarers, with key topics such as job security, the need for new training to handle emerging technologies, and the introduction of more sustainable practices being addressed. The panel concluded with practical suggestions for protecting seafarers' well-being as the maritime industry continues to evolve.
