Last week at the Paperjam Club event 10x6, our CEO, Isabelle Delas shared her vision for Luxembourg’s financial center in 2035, emphasizing its potential to lead the global transition toward a more #sustainable and inclusive future. 🌿 She outlined three core principals that shall guide this transformation: 1️⃣ Sustainability at the core By 2035, ESG and impact finance will drive investment decisions, channeling capital into projects that address pressing challenges like climate change and social equity. Luxembourg has the expertise and ecosystem to lead as a hub for assessing and certifying sustainable investments. 2️⃣ Technology with purpose AI, blockchain, and digital assets will revolutionize finance, but innovation must align with ethics and societal well-being. Luxembourg's strength in data management and geo-observation shall contribute to positioning Luxembourg as a leader in leveraging technology for impactful and responsible financial solutions. 3️⃣ Inclusive leadership To build a resilient future, diverse voices must be at the table. Promoting women in leadership and fostering mentorship will create a balanced, forward-thinking financial sector that reflects our shared values. 💬 What legacy will Luxembourg’s financial center leave in 2035? 🌍 Yesterday, our CEO Isabelle Delas had the honor of moderating an insightful panel at the COP29 Azerbaijan, featuring Ambroise Fayolle, Vice President of the European Investment Bank (EIB), and Pierre Gramegna, Managing Director of the ESM - European Stability Mechanism. The discussion focused on the evolving role of European financial institutions in driving the transition to a greener, more inclusive economy.   💡Key takeaways: 1️⃣ Strengthening financial roles: Ambroise and Pierre shared how the EIB and ESM are adapting to support Europe’s journey toward sustainability, emphasizing their crucial roles in fostering financial stability while promoting environmental goals. 2️⃣ Social impact in green transition: Ambroise highlighted the importance of “leaving no one behind” in the shift to a sustainable economy, while Pierre discussed how climate risks and social aspects intertwine with financial stability. 3️⃣ Embedding ESG in finance: Both leaders spoke on integrating ESG factors into their institutions' investment and financing strategies, underscoring a balanced approach that addresses both climate action and social justice. 4️⃣ Engaging for change: The EIB and ESM are actively engaging with EU countries, companies, and international bodies to support impactful projects - working together to champion concrete climate actions and sustainable transitions.
