Congrats to the BASF Zhanjiang team for the successful installation of the steam cracker module at BASF's Zhanjiang Verbund site in China. Exciting to see how the new site is developing! #BASFZhanjiang #Milestone #Innovation
Today, we proudly celebrate the successful installation of the steam cracker module at our Zhanjiang Verbund site, marking a significant milestone in our journey toward the startup of the core of the Verbund by 2025. We were honored to welcome esteemed guests, including Haryono Lim, Joachim Thiel, Marko Murtonen, Frank Yan, Jicheng Shi, and our dedicated teams from both BASF and our partners, who joined us on this memorable occasion. Our steam cracker project serves as a strategic cornerstone for our Zhanjiang Verbund site, exemplifying our commitment to innovation and sustainability. The concept of modular construction employed in this project brings advantages in terms of efficiency, safety, and quality. By utilizing pre-assembled modules, we can streamline the construction process, reducing project timelines while minimizing on-site disruptions. This approach not only enhances safety by allowing for more controlled assembly in a factory setting but also ensures consistent quality across all components. This achievement underscores the collaborative spirit that fuels our success and would not have been possible without the unwavering dedication and hard work of all our team members and partners. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this remarkable accomplishment! Let’s keep pushing boundaries and striving for excellence together. 📸 Check out the photos from this milestone event to see our team in action and stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey. #BASF #BASFZhanjiang #BASFZhanjiangVerbundsite #MegaProjectsAsia #LetsDoThis #Innovation #Sustainability #Milestone #Collaboration

BASF Aroma Ingredients hat dies direkt geteilt
After declaring Force Majeure in August, I am pleased to share that for BASF Aroma Ingredients, the production of Pyranol, Methylionone 70 and DL-Menthol FG has started successfully, meeting our ambitious start-up timeline. With this, we have begun informing customers about new allocation volumes as well as the potential date of the Force Majeure lift of Pyranol, Methylionone 70 and DL-Menthol FG on November 19, 2024. We have also confirmed that production of Rose Oxide 70 will start from mid-March 2025 onwards, earlier than previously communicated. My huge thanks goes to all the teams involved that are working so diligently to complete the repair work and expedite the start-up process! It is a great achievement to bring back the operations for the first products in such a challenging timeline, while keeping safety as the top priority. The remaining Aroma Ingredients are expected to restart production in a staggered approach from April to June 2025. This year at BASF, we are marking two decades of groundbreaking innovation with our citral complex in Ludwigshafen and we celebrate 1 million tons of citral produced globally since 1981 at the same time! Take a journey through BASF’s citral success story: From pioneering in the citral production with our very first facility 1981 and the set-up of today’s world scale plant in 2004 in Ludwigshafen to a second plant in Malaysia since 2018 and a third one under construction in China. This anniversary isn’t just about time passing, it’s a testament to our dedication, expertise, growth, and contributions to the aroma ingredients market. #Citral #Aroma #AromaIngredients #Milestones #FlavorAndFragrance

Improving sustainability in the F&F industry requires working on several aspects! This was the main conclusion drawn by the “Roundtable on Sustainable Supply Chains: from Carbon Footprint to Human Rights” moderated by Alain Frix at IFEAT Conference 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday! We were honored to have Cordula Mock-Knoblauch, our Head of Sustainability Accelerator, join the panel. She highlighted how the chemical industry standard developed by Together for Sustainability enables the calculation of comparable product carbon footprints for synthetic aroma ingredients. We are fully committed to this journey and have recently, as the first large chemical company, launched an Aroma PCF Scale, which classifies aroma ingredients according to a clearly defined Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) scoring system. Kudos to all the other participants of the panel: Rajesh Nair, Christian Van Osselaer, Thomas ANDRO, Rik Kutsch Lojenga, Sven Ballschmiede, Martina Bianchini, Catherine Rémy, Filip Lissicharov, Tim S Valentiner, Elisa Aragon #IFEAT2024 #IFEAT #Sustainability #PCF IFEAT - The International Federation of Essential Oils and Aroma Trades
