💡 More than just IT  –  Thinking Beyond IT with Enterprise Service Management ServiceNow Hackathon 2024 We recently hosted a two-day hackathon where creativity, collaboration, and innovation took centre stage. Participants from within Nintendo of Europe and students from the Master’s programme in IT Management at Hochschule Mainz - University of Applied Sciences came together in a vibrant workshop atmosphere. As teams, they tackled three unique challenges focused on developing mobile applications on the ServiceNow platform. The event wasn’t just about development: it explored new ways to accelerate digitalisation, foster creativity, and encourage innovative problem-solving across various domains. Our goals were to inspire ideas, drive innovation, and foster collaboration between industry and academia, while attendees got a better feel for the versatility of an Enterprise Service Management (ESM) like ServiceNow. Across challenges that were designed to transcend IT, participants created functional mobile app prototypes, supported by compelling pitch decks that outlined the problem, solution, and potential impact. It was an immersive experience filled with exploration, fun, and great ideas, fuelled by coffee, snacks, and creative energy! The participants walked away not only with solutions but with a deeper understanding of how technology and innovation can transform business landscapes beyond the boundaries of IT.  In the end, everyone was a winner, as the experiences were just as rewarding as the solutions created. We were happy to see that participants left with a smile. A special thank you goes to Prof. Dr. Bernhard Ostheimer and Hochschule Mainz - University of Applied Sciences for the fantastic collaboration, and to ServiceNow for providing the lab environment that made this event possible.
