Here's peek into a removal of a low-pressure turbine (LPT) on a CFM56 at MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg. Our local ON-SITEᴾˡᵘˢ service team there has a facility with six maintenance bays specifically meant for so-called hospital shop visits. We are currently in the midst of replacing a number of LPTs for an Eastern European carrier, in a collective effort by this location, MTU Maintenance Hannover and MTU Maintenance Lease Services to find a cost-effective solution to a disruptive issue for the customer. #OneMTU #WeAreEngineExperts #CFM56

MTU Maintenance Zhuhai is the first shop in China to use SAF! MTU Maintenance Zhuhai introduces sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) testing to its portfolio and carries out first test with launch customer China Southern Airlines. A V2500 engine from International Aero Engines (IAE) was successfully tested with a 10 percent SAF blend following a full overhaul shop visit. Conducted in a controlled ground environment, test runs will initially be performed with a 10 percent SAF blend and can be expanded to up to 50 percent, the current regulatory limit, if required. The introduction of this service is part of MTU Aero Engines’ strategy to support the sustainability goals of its customers across the lifecycle of their engines as well as achieve emissions reductions at its facilities across the globe. It follows the introduction of capabilities and initial tests at its site at MTU Maintenance Hannover in 2021 and the 100% SAF test carried out on an IAE V2500 engine there in March 2024, as well as technical capability at MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg. #WeAreEngineExperts .

3D.aero GmbH scan technology for defects in engine parts can save a whole day in turnaround time! Today, MTU Aero Engines announced that it has taken on 3D.aero GmbH, an automation and measurement technology specialist, as a 100% subsidiary. MTU and 3D.aero GmbH have already implemented joint projects: 3D ScanExpress is a measurement system that can record, in three dimensions, damage to components that’s just 20 μm deep. One system is currently in use at MTU Maintenance Hannover in disassembly. Another is currently being industrialized for the inspection area. This collaboration has already set new standards in the three-dimensional measurement of surfaces and can save on average a whole day in turnaround time! #WeAreEngineExperts

Big bow, even bigger celebrations! We are super proud of achieving 25,000 engine shop visits network wide! Our long-standing customer All Nippon Airways (ANA) joined the team at MTU Maintenance Hannover to receive their CF6-80C2. In addition to it being a milestone shop visit for the group, it was also the 300th ANA engine to leave an MTU shop since the two companies started working together 15 years ago. Yukifumi Ueda, VP and GM Engine, Component and Supply Chain at ANA said. "To celebrate this anniversary in MTU history with everyone is an honor. MTU Maintenance is a trusted partner of ours and always goes the extra mile when we need it.” Our relationship with ANA covers not only the CF6-80C2 in Hannover, but also the CFM56 in Zhuhai and accessories in Canada. We were delighted they joined us in person to celebrate and can't wait for many more fruitful years of collaboration and success! #WeAreEngineExperts #MRO

Happy 10th birthday to MTU Maintenance Australia! What started out in 2014 as little more than a roomy garage specializing in the field service of industrial gas turbines, has become another growing MTU success that we are extremely proud of. Today, our crew Down Under are not only experts in LM-branded IGTs, but the location is also the only service provider in the South Pacific region for on- and near-wing repair and maintenance on the CF34-10E. To mark the anniversary, we invited our customers and network colleagues for a week of workshops and events, including a visit to the historic Perth Mint. #WeAreEngineExperts

𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘦𝘳 (Kvair-ayn-shty-ger) – German for a career changer. It’s hardly a secret that the MRO industry is in dire need of new blood. But mechanics is a universal language, so what’s stopping a biologist or car mechanic from understanding pumps, gears, nuts and bolts on a V2500 engine? Exactly, nothing! This is why at MTU Maintenance Canada in Vancouver, we have devised a program with the British Columbia Institute of Technology which empowers career changers to succeed and exceed as MTU engine experts. Creating trust through transparency and expertise! As an MRO service provider, we cannot expect our customers to be as familiar with the intricacies of an aero engine as we are. To overcome that and bring the subject matter closer to them, we invite our customers to technical training courses at MTU shops. The goal behind it is to create a common basis for a two-way conversation on maintenance procedures. Read all about it:

There is something Zen-like to repairing the abradable fan case lining on a GE90, isn't there? Patience and precision are the key, as you can see here. Why, of course, we can do this on-site at a hangar. After all, #WeAreEngineExperts. #MRO #OnSite #GE90
