That’s a wrap! #Priceless Over the past few weeks, we have introduced you to six people from six different countries in our project regions. We’ve asked all of them the same question: What is your most priceless possession? As Christmas approaches, we are reminded that the most meaningful gifts in life are not measured by their material value but by the feelings, memories, and stories they represent. Hearing the powerful stories behind these items has inspired us to give. You too can make a difference this holiday season by gifting something truly priceless – hope. Donate now: https://bit.ly/3ZFin11 Because money can’t buy health and dignity, but it can bring relief to people in need. #MalteserInternational #Christmas #Donation #Hope #HumanitarianAid

Since the war in #Ukraine started, countless Ukrainian children and their families have been #displaced. "The escape from a familiar environment, sometimes accompanied by gunfire and bombardments, not only causes great insecurity in children but can also lead to trauma and post-traumatic stress disorders," explains a psychologist from our partner organization, Words Help, in Ukraine. One of these children is nine-year-old Daniil. He has had to flee twice since he was seven, leaving behind his home – and his father. Soon, he showed typical #trauma symptoms. His mother sought mental health support from our partner, Words Help. The psychologists first worked with Daniil and his mother, then with Daniil individually. At the end of the therapy, his parents noted positive results: reduced trauma symptoms and improved adaptation to new living conditions. Together with our partners Malteser Ukraine, Mental Health Service, and Words Help we offer counseling, health education in schools, and mentored social activities to children, women, and men affected by the war in Ukraine. True healing, however, can only begin once the cause of the trauma ends. Healing can only start with #peace. 🕊️ 👉 Read more about our work in Ukraine and Daniil's full story: https://bit.ly/4g5lA0C 🎁 This Christmas, give the gift of hope and strength to those who are living through war: https://bit.ly/49gSOba #MalteserInternational #priceless #DonateNow #ChristmasDonation #MakeADifference #displacement #refugees #Ukraine

When Daniil was born, the war in eastern #Ukraine had been going on for a year. When he was one, the family was #displaced for the first time. When he was seven, the war caught up with the family again. This time, when they fled, his father had to stay behind. At the last moment, Daniil stuffed a small angel figurine in his backpack. It has since become #priceless to him: „I believe it watches over us to make sure that everything is fine, connects us with people who help us and with those whom we can help.“ Some of the people who helped Daniil and his family were the mental health experts from our partner organization Words Help. Come back tomorrow to learn more about our support for traumatized children in Ukraine. ✨ “Peace is not a choice – it’s the only choice for us.” For pastoralist communities, peace, development, and humanitarian aid must go hand in hand. In OneSec, patrick katelo issako, CEO of PACIDA, explains why the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus must be addressed locally—and how the international community can help make it work. 💡 “When communities lead, solutions last. What we need is flexible funding, collaboration, and trust in local expertise.” 👉 Read Patrick’s powerful call for action: https://lnkd.in/eYHBZmg2 🗞️ About OneSec: Snackable insights from the humanitarian sector—straight from those who shape it. #HDPnexus #Localization #HumanitarianSector #OneSec #PACIDA #MalteserInternational

Does your life fit into one backpack? Daniil was born in eastern Ukraine in 2015. When bombs started falling on their city in February 2022, "my father told us to get ready very quickly". His parents had fled with him for the first time when he was a toddler. Since the beginning of the countrywide war on Ukraine, Daniil's family was displaced twice more. Among the very few things he hastily stuffed in his backpack in February 2022 was a small angel figurine. On the run, water, food, money, warm clothing, or a cellphone may seem more vital than a toy or a talisman. Yet, this angel has become priceless for the little boy. For him, it has superpowers. Find out more about Daniil and his priceless talisman here tomorrow! Worldwide, 122.6 million people are on the run (UNHCR, June 2024). Let’s stay by their sides! What would you spend for the gift of hope this Christmas? https://bit.ly/3ALHvLm #MalteserInternational #Priceless #DonateNow #ChristmasDonation #MakeADifference #Displacement #Refugees #Ukraine

Is there an item in your life that is #priceless to you? Sometimes, faith is the only “thing” left to a person that gives them a sense of hope and security. Because if someone is watching over you and your family, everything will be good in the end, right? Even in a flood. Even in a drought. Even in a pandemic. Even in a war. At #MalteserInternational, faith is always with us. Various faiths, in fact. And above all the strong belief that by serving people in need, we can contribute to the upkeeping of hope. In a country devastated by #war, a little angel has become priceless to a small boy who lost his home. Come by again tomorrow to learn more about his story! This Christmas, give the gift of hope to people affected by war and catastrophes! There are many ways to help – as a company: https://bit.ly/3Z3I1Mz Or privately: https://bit.ly/497dC4L #DonateNow #ChristmasDonation #MakeADifference #Displacement #Refugees

To ensure access to life-saving medical care in Syria, we support 8 hospitals and 10 health centers. One of these health centers is the the Shamarikh Health Center, which is operated by our partner organization Independent Doctors Association IDA. For families like Mohammad's, who live in a camp for internally displaced people, these health facilities are a lifeline. "The center is our only hope for improving our children’s health," Mohammad shares. At the Shamarikh Health Center, his children receive free exams, medications, and nutrition monitoring—crucial support for a family with no possibility of earning an income. 🔗 Read more about Mohammad’s story on our website: https://bit.ly/49AvyoK 🔗Gift something #Priceless this Christmas – Your Support: https://bit.ly/4gvhrmy #Priceless #DonateNow #ChristmasDonation #MakeADifference #MalteserInternational #Syria
