🎉 It’s official – The Life Science Factory has arrived in Munich! 🎉 Today, we cut the ribbon at our new location in partnership with Helmholtz Munich, marking a big step forward in supporting life science innovation! With the contribution of Matthias H. Tschöp, helpful support of the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie and impactful insights from the start-ups smartbax, 2NA FISH, Deep Piction, as well as motivating words from Philipp Baaske, the opening ceremony was a great success. In the beginning of 2025, our doors will be open to scientists, start-ups, and entrepreneurs who need fully equipped labs and collaborative workspaces to bring their ideas to life. We are proud to start this new chapter in Munich and can’t wait to see the incredible discoveries and ventures that will be developed here. Day 2 of the 3rd Entrepreneurial Life Science Accelerator Check-In: ELSA Pitch Bowl - Success and Celebration! 🎤🏆 The day began with our start-ups working intensively with their coaches, finalizing their pitches, and preparing for the big moment. After a productive morning, our health partner Die Techniker hosted a calming wind-down session featuring meditation, helping participants refocus and recharge. All the hard work culminated in an unforgettable ELSA Pitch Bowl - the highlight of the program! We welcomed many familiar faces from the community and ecosystem, creating an inspiring atmosphere of innovation and collaboration. The networking opportunities added immense value, bringing people together to exchange ideas and insights. The pitches from all participating start-ups were truly outstanding, showcasing not only their innovation but also the remarkable progress they’ve made throughout our program. Meet our Jury: Benedikt von Braunmühl We are pleased to introduce our third member of our jury, Benedikt von Braunmühl, at this year's Entrepreneurial Life Science Accelerator (ELSA) Pitch Bowl. He has a proven track record as a C-suite executive, focusing on revenue growth, market share expansion, and P&L performance. His career highlights include establishing Chiron Vaccines' Latin American office, leading Qiagen's global commercial operations, accelerating growth and profitability at Medicover Diagnostic Services, transforming HMNC Brain Health into a clinical-stage biopharma company and chairing the Board of Directors of the French Start-up PathoQuest. In his current role as CEO of Rentschler Biopharma, he drives the expansion into the rare disease and orphan drug segment. Day 1 of our 3rd Entrepreneurial Life Science Accelerator (ELSA) Check-In: Elevating Skills in Pitching and Entrepreneurship! Our day started with personalized coaching sessions, giving each team the opportunity to get tailored feedback for their individual needs. This was followed by a practical session on stage presentation skills with Ralf Leister, where our startups learned quick wins for presenting on stage. In the afternoon, Ralf was joined by Benjamin Keller for a dedicated Start-up Pitch Training session, where they worked together to fine-tune our teams' abilities to deliver clear and engaging pitches for tomorrows ELSA Pitch Bowl. This evening, the program continues with a Fireside Chat: Life Science Entrepreneurs Talk with Benedikt von Braunmühl. The teams will have the unique opportunity to hear firsthand about his journey as a successful life science entrepreneur and engage in an insightful Q&A session. Big congratulations to Felix Carl Wiegandt and the team of Inhale+! Inhale+, an alumni of our Entrepreneurial Life Science Accelerator (ELSA) Program, has been awarded €1.3 million in funding at the IBT Lower Saxony Portfolio Conference held on November 27, 2024. Last year, they captivated us and won the jury award of the ELSA Pitch Bowl, and now they continue to excel with their innovative approach to inhalation therapy for premature babies. Their non-invasive therapy, designed to treat underdeveloped lungs in preterm infants, stands as a testament to the impactful and pioneering work being done by our alumni.
