My colleagues Ole Rauber-Wagner and Gisela Mainberger have written a great article about sustainability in the hydrogen economy in the latest issues of HZwei magazine and their international edition, H2-International by Hydrogeit Verlag! This is what I took away from reading “𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲”:   🔹Only when all four parts of the value chain - recirculation, pre-treatment, recycling and reuse - have been designed, organized and implemented, the benefits of the circular economy can fully unfold. 🔹An efficient circular economy requires cooperation along the entire value chain. Together with partners, Heraeus Precious Metals is working on technologies that enable the sustainable return and recycling not only of precious metals but also on regaining ionomers from membranes and even try to process the whole stack. 🔹Precious metals are the value driver in EoL Stacks and the enabler for an economic resource cycle. 🔹Recycling should be considered from the very beginning - this is how raw materials such as iridium can be efficiently recovered and reused. “How quickly can we implement the energy transition?” 🛳 This question has been posed for some time by the Port of Rotterdam, the largest European sea freight transshipment point. 🏭 In the past – and still today – the huge industrial area was shaped by the oil and gas industry. 📉 Why hydrogen stocks can fall even further Although most listed companies involved in hydrogen research, production or infrastructure have only been making losses for years, the demand from investors, not least from many sustainably oriented investment funds, has driven share prices to sky high levels. Now, the highs of the hyped stocks are over. Investors who bought three years ago at the highest prices at the time are sobered to discover that the prices are now not seldom 90 percent or even lower. Because sales developments have fallen far short of expectations. Nevertheless, these stocks can still fall further: the market capitalizations are, even at the current price level, usually at a multiple of the last annual turnover – and most of these companies continue to report heavy losses. 👉 Read the article in the comments #hydrogen #h2 #stockmarket
