Adherent cell culture on a small footprint + sustainable lab consumables

Info

Creating a space-efficient, sustainable, and productive future for biotech. With our innovative products, we tackle the global manufacturing capacity crunch in adherent cell cultivation and make biotech more sustainable by reducing waste and CO₂ emissions. Our product CellScrew® is a novel vessel for adherent cell cultures that offers a large growth area on a small footprint and requires less manual labor than common systems, streamlining adherent cell cultivation in cell and gene therapy manufacturing. With our 96-well plates made from polylactic acid (PLA), we provide labs with a more sustainable replacement for commonly used assay plates. All our products are manufactured in Germany and made 100% from plant-based materials. Spread the word to make biotech more sustainable. 💚

  • PLA can help the industry become greener. ⬇ Reducing emissions to minimize a lab’s environmental impact is no longer unexpected. Concerns about the performance of sustainable alternatives may still arise. However, adopting plant-based plastics for single-use systems in the biopharmaceutical industry offers a sustainable and regulatory-compliant solution, significantly lowering the industry’s environmental footprint. With two product lines made from polylactic acid (PLA), a plant-based polymer, we’re offering efficient tools to reduce carbon footprint without compromising on quality. Whether for adherent cell cultivation in the CellScrew® or 96-well plate assays, the polymer combines performance and sustainability. ➡ Pharma Life Sciences has shared an insightful article on this topic (Check the comments for the link.)

  • What happens after production in our 3D printers ⬇? After the initial quality processes, “passed” products are prepared for TC treatment and sterilization. These are two critical steps in preparing our products for use in adherent cell culture. TC treatment (tissue culture) modifies surface properties to enhance cell attachment and growth. Sterilization of the product is essential for use in cell culture. It reduces the risk of contamination in advance and promotes viable cells. ➡ The CellScrew® is now ready to cultivate adherent cells on a compact footprint.
