Highlights from the 6th Enteral Tube Workshop Europe  We are pleased to share that the 6th Enteral Tube Workshop from Fresenius Kabi MedTech Europe, held on 12-13 December, 2024 in Berlin, was a great success! With 23 doctors and nurses from seven European countries participating, the event provided intensive training on best possible and professional use of Transnasal and Percutaneous Enteral Nutrition Tubes. Led by experienced gastroenterologists, the workshop offered an excellent blend of hands-on practice and theory. As Prof. Dr. med. Karl-Ernst Grund stated: "My goal is to share my expertise with this group of dedicated professionals to reduce complications in daily practice. Together, we strive to enhance patient care every day." A key session focused on the Hybrid PEG placement technique, using the Freka PEG and PEG Pro Hybrid Sets. By using these sets, the benefits of the traditional Pull-method are uniquely combined with the added safety of gastropexy, aiming to increase patient comfort, safety, and efficiency in percutaneous feeding tube solutions. Thanks to the Training Phantoms from the University of Tübingen and FujiFilm Endoscopy Towers, participants had the opportunity to practice and refine their techniques. Special thanks to our team and speakers  We extend our sincere gratitude to our colleague Horst Ebert for his outstanding organization. We thank all participants for their commitment and our renowned speakers and tutors for sharing their invaluable expertise:  Federica Branchi   Treese Christoph Prof. Dr. med. • 🌍 At Fresenius Kabi, we are committed to fostering diversity, inclusion, and growth within advanced therapies. On 26 November 2024, we were proud to have our colleague Jenny Stjernberg, PhD, Director of Commercialization, Therapeutic Apheresis, and Cell Therapy, serve as co-chair of the WiAT (Women in Advanced Therapies) session at ATMP Sweden’s annual meeting in Malmö. Jenny’s session, “Challenges and Benefits to Establishing Diversity,” brought together leading voices to discuss the importance of diversity within the advanced therapy field. The session featured speakers from institutions across the Nordic region - including CCRM Nordic, VILDA, and Lund University - highlighting how diversity in gender, background, age, and nationality fuels innovation, fosters collaboration, and strengthens inclusivity. Reflecting on her experience, Jenny shared, “Having attended ATMP many times, it’s a true honor to co-chair a session close to my heart. This discussion goes beyond promoting diversity—empowering the audience to take the next step in their careers, making connections, and setting best practices to build a more inclusive ATMP field.” The panel discussion offered valuable insights into the benefits and challenges of creating diversity-focused roles and initiatives, showing how institutions can work together to drive positive change. At Fresenius Kabi, we are proud of our collective efforts to prioritize diversity and inclusion, believing that a range of perspectives shapes a stronger future for everyone. Thank you, Jenny Stjernberg, for leading such an essential conversation and for your commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders in advanced therapies. 👏 #WomenInLeadership #CellTherapy #CommittedToLife

The so-called CAR-T cell therapies are among the most innovative therapy options for malignant blood cancers, for example. They require the patient’s living cells, which are then prepared in a special way using an intricate process. The entire production process for these cell-based therapeutics is extremely complex and logistically challenging, making therapeutic applications expensive and limiting their accessibility. Fresenius Kabi is developing and producing two new devices that are essential to the CAR-T cell therapy process. Read more in our story about how the cell processing systems Lovo and Cue are revolutionizing the treatment of cancer patients by making the therapy production more efficient and accessible: 👉 https://lnkd.in/eCgJWChF #Cancer #CARTCellTherapy #CommittedToLife

  • 🌟 Reflecting on a Meaningful Oncology Workshop with Fresenius Kabi MedTech 🌟 On November 19th 2024, our oncology-focused MedTech teams from across Europe – spanning marketing, sales, and application experts in Infusion Devices – gathered for an impactful workshop to dive into the oncology patient journey. Set within the innovative, near-real hospital setting of the Getinge Experience Center at Frankfurt Airport, this hands-on event gave attendees the chance to explore “a day in oncology” with Fresenius Kabi MedTech products such as the Agilia and Exelia Infusion Pumps and Dedicated Sets as part of our ongoing commitment to serve patients beyond expectations. We sincerely thank our colleagues Hans-Georg Wielinger, Rubén Sánchez Rivera, Helmut M. Becker, Fabienne COUTA and Rosalie Brink for planning and organizing this valuable workshop, as well as for their dedicated leadership of the lectures and hands-on sessions. A special thanks to Pablo Martín García, Nursing Supervisor at Hospital Clínico Universitario de Málaga’s Oncohaematology Day Hospital, for joining us. His invaluable insights into the oncohaematology unit’s processes and personal experiences as a nurse enriched our workshop and deepened our understanding of patient-centered care. This gathering also allowed market unit attendees to share best practices and learnings, inspiring valuable conversations and fresh perspectives. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event so impactful! • World Prematurity Day: Supporting Our Most Vulnerable Every year, an estimated 13.4 million babies are born preterm, meaning that 1 in 10 babies enters the world before 37 weeks of gestation(1). At Fresenius Kabi MedTech, we are committed to providing high-quality, developmentally supportive treatment and care for these vulnerable lives. As part of our dedication, we are proud to support the BORN study, which aims to improve blood transfusion practices for preterms neonates. Preliminary findings of the study show that transfusing these patients with red blood cells obtained from cord blood instead of adult blood, is safe and may protect them from severe forms of retinopathy of prematurity(2).  Together, we can make a difference in the lives of premature infants. If you want to learn more about our initiatives or the multicenter study led by Prof. Luciana Teofili at Policlinico Universitario Gemelli in Rome, please reach out to Fabio Remondi, Senior Marketing Manager for Whole Blood Transfusion or send a message on LinkedIn. #WorldPrematurityDay #NeonatalCare #BioRflex #CordBlood #CommittedToLife Sources: (1) World Health Organization (WHO) – “Born Too Soon: The Global Action Report on Preterm Birth” (2) Ital J Pediatr. 2024, 50:142 https://lnkd.in/edj3Qa3G 📘 Not all products listed are available or approved for sale in all countries. • Empowering Our Freelance Team Through Hands-On Training: At Fresenius Kabi, we believe that quality patient care in the homecare sector begins with the right training and strong collaboration. That’s why we bring our freelance nurses together several times a year for in-depth training sessions, focusing on the safe and effective use of our MedTech Infusion and Nutrition Systems, and medical nutrition therapy. Our sessions are designed to be as practical and hands-on as possible, ensuring that our team is fully prepared and empowered for their daily patient care. These training events are not just about enhancing skills—they’re also a valuable opportunity for us as a company to learn from the real-world experiences our experts for enteral and parenteral nutrition face in day-to-day patient care. By exchanging knowledge and insights, we create a culture of mutual learning, continuously improving our practices and strengthening the quality of care. Dagmar Scherrer, Director Homecare Operations & Public Affairs reflects: "It's inspiring to see the nursing staff's motivation at these events, as they strive to provide the best possible care for patients. I also find the exchange of ideas incredibly enriching." The photo features our colleagues Sabine Allegra, Product Expert Enteral Application and Michael Krüger, Freelance Nurse, at our recent workshop in Bad Gögging, Germany. Alongside our work in Germany, we are also actively supporting our homecare services across Austria, Switzerland, UK, Poland, Ireland, and Portugal. Follow us for more updates and to explore our services.
