We recently had a very special visitor to our pencil factory in Stein, Germany—Christkind Lotta! She was accompanied by the Faber-Castell twins, Countess Sarah von Faber-Castell and Countess Victoria von Faber-Castell, and it was a truly magical experience for all concerned. For those of you who may not be familiar with the tradition of Christkind, it is a beloved figure in German-speaking countries who brings presents to children on Christmas Eve. Often depicted as a young girl with angelic features, Christkind is said to represent the spirit of the Christmas season. During her visit to our factory, Lotta brought joy and cheer to our employees and even visited our retired senior employees during their Christmas party at the castle. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to welcome Christkind into our workplace, and we hope that these impressions of her visit brought a little bit of magic into your day as well. We wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season! #FaberCastell

"To be remembered, you must make history"—or simply resurrect yourself. Just like Lothar Freiherr von Faber (1817-1896), who was very much alive the day before yesterday in Stein and who not only expressed these words but also said a few introductory sentences at the presentation of a new book about him. Of course, AI makes it possible. But it is the recently published book by Dr Renate Hilsenbeck, the former head of the Faber-Castell archives, that offers a truly personal insight: "Lothar Freiherr von Faber und die Bleistiftdynastie" ("Baron Lothar von Faber and the Pencil Dynasty") provides an unprecedented perspective on Lothar's life and that of his family, who were inextricably linked in their private and business lives. The book opens the doors to the private and business achievements of a man whose legacy still resonates today with the ninth generation of the company's heirs—hosts of the book launch event: Victoria von Faber-Castell, Sarah von Faber-Castell, Katharina von Faber-Castell und Charles von Faber-Castell. The book is available in German from PH. C. W. Schmidt. What better way to celebrate the timeless art of handwriting than with an exquisite masterpiece—our Pen of the Year from the Graf von Faber-Castell collection? This year, we are delighted to immerse you in the opulent era of Turquerie—a period spanning the 16th to 18th centuries, when the grandeur, elegance, and exotic allure of the Ottoman Empire captivated Europe. This extraordinary writing instrument is the brainchild of Serdar Gülgün, a visionary artist renowned for his in-depth knowledge of Ottoman art and culture. He has given the Pen of the Year the artistic sophistication that makes his style unique. "I am a translator, I transform the old into something new," he explains. Adorned with luxurious materials, the pen features platinum-plated metal stripes, 18 sparkling rubies, and intricate chevron patterns set against deep blue lacquer inlays. Every detail has been meticulously crafted, making this pen a stunning work of art. We invite you to indulge in this opulent artefact, married to the history and artistry of a bygone era. https://lnkd.in/ePnyT5vf #poty2024 #PenOfTheYear #WritingWithStyle #GrafVonFaberCastell
