Continental sets out plan for spinning off its Automotive group sector. At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Continental was informed of the next steps for the spin-off. Subject to the approval of the Supervisory Board in March 2025 and resolution by the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting on April 25, 2025, the spin-off is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Automotive is then set to be listed as a European company (Societas Europaea, SE) on the Frankfurt stock exchange (Germany). It will operate under a new brand and be led by Philipp von Hirschheydt. Wolfgang Reitzle, chairman of Continental’s Supervisory Board: “The Automotive spin-off will unlock new strengths, because focused companies are more agile, especially in times of transformation. The entire Supervisory Board supports this ambitious plan.” Original Equipment Solutions (OESL), the ContiTech business that supplies rubber products to automotive manufacturers, will also be made independent in the near future, as previously announced.
