Galvanising AMR Financing: A Collective Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance Addressing the explosive spread of AMR is no simple task; it requires coordinated efforts across numerous domains and stakeholders.   Thank you to The UK’s Science and Innovation Network (SIN) for hosting an enlightening evening on 'Galvanising AMR Financing' at the British Embassy in Stockholm. It was inspiring to engage with the diverse group of stakeholders—leaders in financing, politics, and science—all dedicated to tackling AMR. The event, held at the beautiful British Ambassador's Residence, highlighted the importance of unified action across sectors. At Utilizer, we are committed to enabling cost-efficient, accurate, and easily accessible bacterial diagnostics to promote the responsible use of antibiotics. By providing tools that support informed decision-making, we aim to make a tangible impact in the fight against AMR. Special thank you to Jacqueline Hjertström who invited me, Saba Hussein Gore, PhD, Lead, UK Science & Innovation Network Sweden for organising &moderating, Dame Sally Davies, UK Special Envoy on AMR presenting the high level focus on AMR from UK government, Emma Berntman, PhD , Senior Engagement Specialist at FAIRR Initiative discussing Onehealth projects, Maria Larsson Ortino, Director, Investment Stewardship Health Lead at Legal & General Nina Rawal, Co-head and partner Trill Impact and Nicolai Lysgaard Thomsen, Senior Public Affairs Manager, Novo Nordisk Foundation and Novo Holdings open to share funding opportunities, @Oliver Kacelnik, Special Adviser on public health, Norwegian Ministry of Health and Care Services   It was fantastic meeting political, financial and scientific experts working towards a joint goal of AMR control! David Glover from the NHS shared the UK´s ambitious 25% antibiotic reduction target—surpassing the EU’s 20% goal. World AMR Awareness Week Antibiotic resistance continues to rise, and it will be harder to effectively treat common infections like urinary tract infections. Approx. 50% of patients with suspected UTI have negative urine cultures. A good reason to avoid overconsumption of antibiotics, test before prescribing!
