We’re pleased to share that the team at Diagnostisch Therapeutisches Zentrum (DTZ Therapie GbR) treated the first patient, a 62-year-old male with bladder cancer, yesterday with our AI-powered adaptive CT-Linac, Elekta Evo. “With Iris, CBCT image quality has improved significantly thanks to AI-enhanced image reconstruction," says Dr. Matthias Lampe, Radiation Oncologist and partner at DTZ. "We now have much clearer visibility of targets and organs-at-risk, such as pelvic lymph nodes. This gives us greater confidence and saves time, and not only will it improve the quality of treatment but also patient comfort. Additionally, Evo will allow us to realize real-time treatment planning with online adaptive radiation therapy." Read more in today’s press release ➡️ https://bit.ly/49HtgEc

Biology-guided radiation therapy is all about using an individual’s characteristics – or biological information – to personalize their radiotherapy treatment. In this paper, read how investigators from MD Anderson Cancer Center, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and NYU Langone Health found that daily adaptive radiation therapy, using biology-driven imaging on Elekta Unity, is feasible and may improve upon current clinical methods for target localization and response assessment. https://bit.ly/3ZDwBAL #BgRT #radiotherapy

The grand finale of our 18-month Project SPECTRA initiative wrapped up last week in Thailand. With a focus on cervical cancer, we have worked to improve treatment plan quality in the region by training ~400 Thai radiotherapy professionals to use our cloud-based software solution, Elekta ONE | Plan Analytics, powered by ProKnow. Relying on big data insights, the software helps clinicians quickly analyze patient data and gain insights to optimize treatment plans. As a result, more precise and effective radiation therapy treatments can be delivered. We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Prof. Tatsuya Ohno and Dr. Ken Ando from Gunma University Hospital for leading the final course and the JETRO - Japan External Trade Organization for their invaluable support.
