Shovels in hand. A trail of their own. When trail-building felt like it was “just for the guys,” the Dirtgirls set out to change that. This all-female crew in Åre, Sweden, is building trails, creating space for women, and proving that community makes all the difference. "I’d been building trails for a while, but it was almost always just guys out there. So, I started a community, the Dirtgirls, to bring women together and build confidence. As a proud Nyul Nyul Saltwater man from the Kimberley region of Western Australia, The Salty One uses only his feet and traditional foot movements to create striking art of geometric shapes, patterns, and symbols, fulfilling a cultural responsibility and connection with the land.
