🙏🏻 One Year with Cay Collective: A Journey That Changed Our Lives 🙏🏻 We are thrilled to share the milestone of our first year since launching Cay Collective, a platform dedicated to bringing together talented artists and designers. Over the past year, we have connected with over 100 creatives across Europe and expanded to international sales. Our journey has been remarkable, with sales reaching seven figures and hosting eight events, including a successful three-week pop-up store at Nordiska Kompaniet. Both Natalie and I cherish every moment of working on this venture. We are passionate about making a positive impact in a challenging industry, where we can apply our business school knowledge and skills to support and improve the creative sector. 🌟 Cay Collective is growing and expanding! 🌟 The progress that Cay Collective has made in the last couple of months has been truly incredible! We have reached a lot of exciting milestones and new ones are now in our sights, which we would love to share with you: 👩🎨 Today we are 90+ active creators on the website and we have also started to bring in creators from other European countries, such as Germany and Luxembourg. 📈 We have been a part of the SSE Business Lab Activate program where we have learned a lot about running a business, and also had a pitch at the demo day. A very fun time! 🖥️ Improvements have been made to the website design and a visual identity have been developed for Cay Collective as a brand. 🌍 We have sold to over 25 countries, including USA, Singapore and Iceland. The focus for the near future will be to grow in the EU and continue to build a strong community. 🚀 The journey continues and now full-time for both of the founders, Johanna and Natalie. The team is also growing and we work with incredibly driven and inspiring people that makes our journey possible. We’re super proud over our accomplishements and eager to keep on developing the brand, platform and community that Cay Collective is! 🎨 How Cay Collective help tackle the problems within the creative market 🎨 Although being an artist and doing what you love is absolutely wonderful, is it a common fact that being a part of the creative market and industry isn't always as wonderful for the creators. The market and industry has changed over time and problems have occured for the artists. Two of the greater issues today are: 💸 The financial aspect - Art is being sold for artronomical sums at galleries and auction houses worldwide. At the same time, most artists barely earn anything themselves from their own art and can’t live of it. Partly because art galleries take a substantial cut of the selling price. 🌍 Society’s view - Society has an obvious underestimation of the artist's work effort in an economic sense and what their work is worth. Especially due to price wars and mass production which enables lower prices competing with the artists work. So what does Cay Collective do then to tackle the current problems? 🙌🏼 First of all, Cay Collective works hard to empower the artists by supporting them on their creative journeys. We help them with the business side so they can do what they do best - creating. We make it easy for them to reach their full potential for a fair price - offering a professional webshop, advertising and various events. 🙌🏼 Together we can reach a broad audience through collective efforts on social media and a strong network effect. We mainly focus on making the customer understand the value of choosing handmade products compared to cheap low-quality goods that are mass produced. Together we grow every single day and as a collective we can reach new levels of success, benefiting each and every creative soul.
