We're proud to announce the launch of Autoliv Safety Foundation, which is founded and funded by Autoliv to support scientific research and development in road safety and related areas and provide assistance in the event of humanitarian disasters in the proximity to where Autoliv is located. Our first initiatives: → Road Safety Advocacy in Mexico – Partnering with YOURS (Youth for Road Safety), empowering young ambassadors to lead safety education and awareness campaigns. → Disaster Relief in Vietnam & Spain – Supporting communities affected by Typhoon Yagi and severe floods with donations to local aid organizations. “Our ambition is that Autoliv Safety Foundation will contribute to positive long-term effects in societies in and around where Autoliv operates, for a better and safer world," says Gabriella Etemad, Chairperson of Autoliv Safety Foundation Board. Autoliv's Seat Centric Restraint System (SCRS) recently excelled in car-to-car crash testing representative of future Euro NCAP requirements, setting a new benchmark in vehicle safety. The SCRS is designed to protect passengers in all directions by integrating airbags and belt systems directly into the seat, moving with the occupant for stable, consistent protection. One of the unique benefits of SCRS is its ability to protect occupants in diverse interior and seating configurations, offering enhanced safety for all body types and ages, including elderly occupants. Tested in a medium-speed frontal impact, SCRS consistently showed lower injury rates, especially for chest protection, compared to traditional systems. Not only is SCRS redefining passenger protection, but it also offers more design flexibility, giving vehicle manufacturers freedom in interior layouts without compromising safety. The SCRS is a truly omnidirectional concept, providing protection for all crash directions.

Women, children, and older adults have often been left out of crash tests and safety research. At Autoliv, we’re actively addressing this by integrating variables like gender, age, and size into our research and testing processes. Through a cross-disciplinary approach, we draw data from a broader range of sources, such as biomechanics and psychology, to adopt a real-life approach to traffic analysis and develop solutions that protect all road users. Despite the progress made so far, we continually seek to improve. As a proud member of the UN's Informal Equitable Occupant Protection Working Group, we're pushing for global improvements in regulation and rating regarding equity and safety.
