We are excited to announce that Alimak Group and Skyline Robotics today announced a five-year exclusive agreement to develop automated Building Maintenance Units, BMUs, for permanent facade access. Alimak Group also invests a minor undisclosed amount in Skyline Robotics.   The agreement with Skyline Robotics combines Alimak Group’s expertise in vertical access solutions and Skyline’s robotics expertise. The initial goal of the project is to develop an integrated robotic building maintenance unit that will provide automated window cleaning and facade maintenance.   “The Facade Access division of Alimak Group invests heavily in technology for the construction and infrastructure markets. Last week we had the pleasure of hosting an important event in Stockholm, bringing together rental companies, construction firms, interest groups, inspection bodies, unions, and the Swedish Work Environment Authority. Together, we engaged in highly constructive discussions on how to further enhance safety and productivity on construction sites across the Nordics. Alimak Group showcased several safety features, including: • Access to vital information, such as confirmation that daily inspections have been completed. • The My Alimak platform, which provides an overview of all relevant machine information, including performance data, manuals, and usage statistics. • The online tool AliCalc, which simplifies the calculation of forces exerted by construction hoists on buildings and the ground—a critical step in ensuring safe installations. • Features enforcing mandatory daily inspections and approvals before machines can be started. Alimak Group’s CEO, Ole Kristian Jødahl, emphasized the importance of collaboration and the need for all stakeholders to work together to enhance safe installations and improve working conditions at construction sites. There was a clear consensus among all stakeholders that safety is the most important aspect and must not be compromised. Through interactive workshops throughout the day, participants explored current challenges and concrete solutions to address them.
