I help founders find, pitch and close investors | Spent 7 years in VC | Daily posts to simplify your fundraising.

Think startups are a game for young founders only? Think again. 👇 The average successful founder is 45 years-old. (according to HBR's research) Yes, 45. We've all heard about Gates, Jobs, and Zuckerberg. But they are exceptions, not the rule. A 2018 HBR research tells a different story. Middle-aged founders dominate high-growth startups. In software, the average founder is 40. In biotech and energy, it's closer to 47. The most successful startups? Their founders average 45. Experience matters. Even tech icons peaked later. Steve Jobs was 52 when he launched the iPhone. Jeff Bezos was 45 when Amazon's growth took off. So why do VCs chase young founders? Perhaps they believe the myth. Or maybe young founders accept lower valuations. 😉 Age isn't a bug; it's a feature. So if you're thinking about starting up, it's never too late to take the leap. P.S. Do you think there is such a thing as "too young" or "too old" to start a company?

"Building without boundaries represents a world where I can grow, and founders can innovate and ideate without being limited by money, resources, or support," says Yunus Ibrahim, Junior Venture Builder in Gen F. 🌍 Yunus is passionate about the idea stage of entrepreneurship which is critical in any founders journey—He believes this foundational period is key to creating scalable businesses that address real challenges on the continent. What excites him most about the future of entrepreneurship in Africa? "The potential for boundless innovation. A future where African founders develop local solutions for global markets and achieve exits to major global players."" he shares. As Africa’s entrepreneurial ecosystem matures, structured support during the concept and validation stage are vital for de-resking ventures, fostering innovation, and paving the way for African founders to lead on the global stage. GEN F helps founders test, build, and access expert support to help them launch their ideas. Yunus’s vision reflects the growing need for pathways that empower entrepreneurs, giving them access to the resources and networks they need to succeed. It’s through collaboration and bold thinking that the continent will unlock its full potential. 📺 Catch the latest episode on our YouTube channel to hear more from Yunus on how to enable founders to build with purpose → https://lnkd.in/dk2aHhp6 #54Unscripted

📣 We are thrilled to announce the Universal Access Coalition, a new initiative launched during the Energies of the Amazon Conference held in partnership with the Government of Brazil 🇧🇷, Ministry of Mines and Energy in Belém - the heart of the Amazon and the home of #COP30. The conference is bringing together key stakeholders and leaders from government, local communities, the energy, development, and sustainability sectors to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our time: ensuring universal access to energy and a just energy transition for communities in the Brazilian Amazon and across Latin America and the Caribbean. GEAPP is proud to partner with Brazil on its flagship just energy transition programs: Energies of the Amazon and Light for All. 💡 The Universal Access Coalition will bring together a diverse array of stakeholders, including development finance institutions, regional multilateral organizations, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions, private industry, national governments, and civil society advocates. Radical collaboration is essential to addressing the multifaceted barriers to energy access across Latin America and the Caribbean, particularly for marginalized peoples whose struggles are exacerbated by the lack of energy in their communities. The Coalition will focus on resource mobilization, advocacy, capacity building, knowledge sharing and learning. 💪 Join us. Let’s show the world what a truly just energy transition is! • African currencies are taking a wild ride, with devaluations shaking up economies from Ethiopia to Ghana and Nigeria! Ethiopia’s birr dropped over 100% in weeks, sparking inflation and soaring living costs. Ghana’s cedi and Nigeria’s naira have had their share of drama too, putting pressure on households and businesses alike. So, what’s next? Diversify exports, boost local production, and strengthen monetary policies to steady the ship. Regional trade (hello, #AfCFTA 🌍), green energy investments, and cracking down on black-market forex trading can help turn things around. Let’s also protect the vulnerable with subsidies, wage hikes, and smarter safety nets. Africa’s challenges are real, but so are the opportunities to innovate and grow. Together, we can turn this crisis into a win for the continent! 🌟 Read the article; https://lnkd.in/e3qCfHe3 #CurrencyCrisis #AfricaRising #Innovation #EconomicGrowth #SustainableDevelopment #TradeForChange #GreenEconomy
