One Region. One Vision. One ALN.
About us
ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna is East Africa’s largest full-service law firm. We were founded in 1954, and as Kenya has evolved and developed, so have we. We now employ over 100 lawyers and have expanded our footprint to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Dubai, UAE, making us the first African firm to be licensed in UAE. Along the way we have established trusted partnerships with our clients, working alongside them as an extension of their own businesses to guide and advise. In response to the market and as more clients asked us to take care of cross-border deals, in 2004 we founded ALN, an integrated alliance of the preeminent full-service corporate law firms in 15 African countries and the UAE, to give us the agility and expertise to operate locally and across the pan African business and economic environment. Our clients can call upon specialists that span the legal spectrum, and as Africa is propelled on to the world stage, ALN lawyers combine their global perspective with local expertise to help clients navigate new territories and capitalise on future opportunities.

East Africa’s rapidly growing population and dynamic economies offer immense opportunities, yet low intra-regional trade remains a significant challenge. Despite being part of multiple economic blocs such as the EAC, COMESA, SADC, and ECCAS, trade between member states is limited, calling for deeper collaboration and integration. At the recent East Africa: Powering Africa's Sustainable Growth event hosted by ALN Mauritius | BLC Robert & Associates and ourselves, key discussions focused on addressing these opportunities and challenges. Panellists emphasised the need to enhance trade infrastructure and regulatory frameworks, strengthen regional value chains in key sectors like green manufacturing, fintech, and e-commerce and promote cross-border collaboration to drive economic resilience and sustainable growth. As East Africa positions itself as a leading investment destination, fostering intra-regional trade will be pivotal in unlocking its full potential and cementing its role as a key economic hub. A heartfelt thank you to all our speakers, panellists, and participants who brought invaluable insights to the conversation. Your expertise and insight are helping shape the future of intra-regional trade and driving East Africa’s growth. Renowned for its cultural heritage, stunning landscapes, and iconic parks like the Serengeti and Maasai Mara East Africa is well-positioned to tap into the global ecotourism market, set to triple by 2032. To unlock this potential the region needs to explore and integrate sustainable tourism, diversify its offerings, and continue to target emerging high-value markets like Asia. As part of the recently concluded East Africa: Powering Africa's Sustainable Growth client event hosted by ALN Mauritius | BLC Robert & Associates and ourselves held a panel discussion focusing on unlocking the potential of hospitality and tourism in East Africa. Key takeaways explored strategies to diversify tourism offerings, such as wellness retreats and adventure tourism, integrating sustainability into tourism practices to attract eco-conscious travellers and success stories of investments that have transformed East Africa’s tourism landscape. As East Africa and its strategic partners like Mauritius continue to position themselves as leading investment gateways, the tourism sector remains a cornerstone for driving economic growth and enhancing the region’s global appeal. A special thank you to all the speakers, panellists, and participants who enriched the discussions with their expertise and perspectives. Your contributions are instrumental in advancing East Africa’s tourism potential and shaping its path toward sustainable growth. With its rapidly growing population projected to reach 700 million by 2050 and a USD 465 billion GDP expected to grow by 6% annually until 2029, East Africa offers significant potential for investment in sectors such as green manufacturing, fintech, modern retail, and e-commerce. Mauritius, with its robust financial services sector, investor-friendly policies, and position as a strategic gateway, plays a pivotal role as a bridge for global investors seeking to tap into East Africa's dynamic markets becoming a key strategic partner in advancing Africa's sustainable growth. In addition, Mauritius's large and sophisticated home-grown corporates and financial institutions are playing and have the potential to play an even bigger role in transforming East Africa’s economic landscape and gain rich rewards from doing so. Under the theme East Africa: Powering Africa's Sustainable Growth, ALN Mauritius | BLC Robert & Associates and ourselves recently hosted an event that brought together some of the region's top business leaders, investment partners, and key industry players to explore opportunities and address challenges in doing in East Africa. As Africa charts its growth trajectory, ALN remains at the forefront of connecting ideas, peoples and regions and fostering cross-border collaboration. Our extensive alliance and shared vision continue bringing key stakeholders together to shape the narrative about investing in Africa. A heartfelt thank you to all our speakers, panellists, and stakeholders who shared their invaluable insights and expertise, making the event a resounding success. Your contributions are pivotal in driving meaningful conversations and fostering impactful partnerships for Africa’s future. Over the years, we've used the power of art and photography as a medium to illustrate and tell stories about the continent from its perspective - a vision guided by Carlotta Dal Lago, our Head of Business Development, Marketing & Communications. To bring these stories to life, we've partnered with exceptionally talented artists showcasing their different art forms and how they are creating an impact as they depict Africa's richness. In 2023, we launched the highly anticipated ALN art exhibition titled "𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗥𝗲-𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱: 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗻" which showcased a profound exploration of Africa’s rich history and culture, through the fusion of two powerful art forms – photography and caricature – inviting audiences to engage with powerful narratives depicted through the lens of renowned photojournalist Mohamed Amin and the insightful illustrations of acclaimed political cartoonist Godfrey Mwampembwa also known as Gado. During the recently concluded Inspire and Connect East Africa event organised by Bpifrance, Camerapix Chairman Salim Amin spoke to our Head of Business Development, Marketing & Communications Carlotta Dal Lago. Salim explains the importance of photojournalism in creating awareness about Africa, the role Africa's history has in shaping and inspiring the continent's future generations and what the future holds for the Mo Amin Foundation.
