🎥 Watch the time lapse video showing the assembly process of the NAUTILUS Genset demonstrator! 👇
A month ago, the DLR Institute of Engineering Thermodynamics in Stuttgart successfully launched the operation of the NAUTILUS Genset demonstrator after a three-month-long and complex commissioning process. 🌟 This innovative propulsion system integrates a 60-kW Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) with a 20-kW Li-ion battery and features an advanced emissions measurement facility. ⛴️ The demonstrator serves as a testbed for performance validation, paving the way for future scaled-up onboard energy systems capable of delivering 5 to 60 MW of power, depending on vessel size and type. 🌍 Designed to meet the energy demands of propulsion, maneuvering, and hotel amenities on cruise ships, this cutting-edge system also achieves significant reductions in emissions. Developed by a consortium of European leaders - including ship operators, shipyards, technology providers, and research institutions - NAUTILUS exemplifies the strength of EU-wide collaboration in delivering fully integrated design solutions for sustainable shipping. 🎥 Watch the timelapse video showcasing the entire assembly process 👇 #NAUTILUS_2020 #SOFC #EmissionReduction #MaritimeInnovation #SustainableShipping
