Opera for Peace - Leading Voices of the World

Chi siamo

Opera for Peace: Mission, Vision, Ambitions, Values Opera for Peace is a new cultural movement reflecting the reality of today's globalized world, building our cultural and creative future together through passion and determination. We believe in the strength of connecting nations and transcending differences through the unifying communication of opera. We strongly aspire for the advancement of this lyric art form and promoting positive universal values - most importantly, mutual respect, whilst working towards a common goal of artistic excellence. Opera for Peace aims to promote the art form of opera in all countries around the world. We are also aware that the personal development of an artist includes an awareness of the position they hold in society. This special status gives them the opportunity to communicate their convictions about the most serious concerns humanity faces, topics outlined by the World Economic Forum: climate change, security, inequality, poverty, civil rights, in addition to mental health and body positivity. Working closely with opera houses, institutions, and international organizations, we will facilitate cultural understanding by identifying, supporting, and guiding the world's next generation of opera stars. These promising young artists will become ambassadors for our values, uniting and positively influencing society and future generations. Artistic development occurs through a unique, flexible and personalized global schedule of high-level training projects, concerts, masterclasses, educational exchanges, special cultural diplomatic projects, and events. These events will frequently be presented in collaboration with our Peace Ambassadors and guest artists. We provide special support to artists from disadvantaged backgrounds, and will promote social justice and equality through our collaborations. Additionally, we provide a platform for our artists and partners to speak about the essential social issues facing our world.

Unite. Innovate. Create. Transform. Opera for Peace was honoured to join forces with The Vine Global Impact Foundation supporting the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)’s Peacekeeping Initiative. Their training programs equip peacekeepers with the skills and resources needed to resolve conflicts in war-stricken nations and protect vulnerable communities. In a collaboration that embodied the very essence of our shared global mission: empathy, collaboration, and innovation, our Emerging Artist Axelle Saint-Cirel performed for guests, accompanied by Paul Montag at the piano. The MOSAIC International Symposium brought together the foremost experts in Technology and Art from around the world to discuss a united future. Set against the enchanting backdrop of France's historic ROYAUMONT - abbaye & fondation, this groundbreaking 2-day gathering invited the world to come together through the unifying power of arts and technology. MOSAIC is dedicated to fostering cultural diplomacy, where creativity and innovation become the tools to bridge divides and shape a brighter future, values held by Opera for Peace. Opera for Peace is delighted to share that our Academy 2023 Emerging Artist, mezzo-soprano Axelle Saint-Cirel, will be performing La Marseillaise French national anthem tonight during the Olympic opening ceremony in Paris! Axelle from Guadelopean origins was introduced to us by our partners, La Voix des Outre-Mer, after winning the Grand Prix of the 5th Edition of the competition at Opéra de Bastille in 2023. Straight afterwards she participated in our Academy in Paris performing at the Eiffel Tower and at the CIUP, taking part in masterclasses by our Ambassadors, as well as in conferences and workshops, generously sponsored by the European Investment Bank (EIB) Fondation BNP Paribas and Ville de Paris. Since then she has gone from strength to strength, having a wonderful success as Carmen at Opéra Grand Avignon, with upcoming performances at Opéra de Monte-Carlo in Ravel's L’Heure Espagnole & L’Enfant Et Les Sortilèges, and at Opéra de Toulon in La Belle Hélène. Opera for Peace continues to support our artists throughout the year, giving them opportunities to perform and become Citizen Artists, inspiring the next generation. Axelle will therefore be one of our participating artists in our event entitled "La Musique - Une Longue Histoire d'Amour" commissioned by CIC which will be performed in 12 cities in France from September - December 2024. We wish her all the best tonight alongside Céline Dion, Lady Gaga and Aya Nakamura on the greatest stage in the world! #OperaforPeace #CitizenArtists #BetterWorld
