Founded in 2000 and located in Milan’s Caldera campus, MIX is the largest Italian Internet Exchange Point and one of Europe’s top IXPs, handling daily traffic peaks of approximately 3 Tbps. MIX stands out as one of the few European IXPs with its own data centers, offering high-quality, scalable, and robust interconnection services to over 420 national and international networks (AS). As the first Italian IXP to achieve ISO27001:2013 certification, MIX ensures the highest standards in infrastructure and IT process security. It also holds the OIX-1 certification from Open-IX, further affirming its excellence in security and reliability. MIX is a founding member of Open Hub Med, Italy’s first neutral hub connecting Mediterranean networks to Northern Europe.
