🌍 Connecting Through Sports at EUSport LAB! 🤝 Last week, the BAIS board and BAIS’ International Project Manager attended EUSport LAB 2024 in Milan, Italy. The theme of this year was ‘Innovating Social Entrepreneurship in Sports.’ EUSport LAB is an incredible platform for networking, sharing insights and exchanging ideas with like-minded professionals. ✨ 🎤 As part of the event, the BAIS board gave an inspiring presentation on community empowerment and the importance of building strong, supportive networks and communities. 💡 Events like these are crucial for fostering collaborations and empowering communities through sports. A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of being in Milan to talk about "Building Long-Term Sustainable Projects". Part of a #networking and sharing event, with the aim of bringing together organizations from all over the world to share good practices and highly important learnings, the topic of project #sustainability set the tone for these three days of work. At this event, I had the honor of attending two training sessions by two great companions: Bruno Avelar Rosa, speaking about International #Policies, and Miguel Toscano, who presented us with a #Eurofunding Training Seminar. Organizations from 23 countries were impacted by two persons that I consider to be one of the best that #Portugal has to offer. Fortunately, there is recognition abroad and we have Portuguese people impacting organizations and contributing to a more cohesive, more capable ecosystem with better #financial conditions to generate more #impact in their local #communities. It is an honor for me to be able to share part of this journey with these two “giants”. Thank you for sharing, for the guidance, for the friendship and for the inspiration! Regarding #project sustainability, I had the opportunity to share my vision on the #strategies that are most effective to ensure the sustainability and longevity of projects with social impact and how to ensure that projects remain #adaptable and #relevant.   I spoke of three #keystrategies (community #engagement, strategic #partnerships and #diversification and #inclusion) and three #keyapproaches (continuous #feedback loop, local #leadership #development and flexible program design) but what I think is essential is that the projects are fully aligned with the purpose of the organization. Organizations without #vision and #purpose and without #strategicplan cannot have sustainable projects with relevant social impact, regardless of the size of their #ecosystem.   It was a very enriching journey that, while leaving me even more inspired, made me reflect and question what we, Portuguese society, want from our companies and our social projects. What is #SDG in Portugal and how is it being worked on? Where’s the transversal vision of the different impact sectors operating in Portugal? How can we leverage our communities through partnerships between the private and social sectors? What is within everyone's reach and who should promote this #socialcohesion with a common purpose of local, regional, national and, why not, international impact?   A huge thank you to Paolo Menescardi, Marica Barbieri and the entire L'Orma International #team for promoting this event, for bringing together so many people with the same desire to generate impact and for the opportunity to share knowledge with its amazing #EUnetwork.

From 5-7 December 2024, our team had the incredible opportunity to participate in the EUSport Lab 2024, hosted by the amazing L’Orma in the inspiring city of Milan. 🙌✨ On the final day, December 7th, we proudly presented our project Integration101 to a vibrant audience of 80-90 participants at the conference. 📢 W dniach 5-7.12.2024 r. w Mediolanie odbyła się 4 edycja wydarzenia #EUSportLAB. Organizatorem wydarzenia była włoska organizacja non profit L'ORMAinternational , która wspiera międzynarodową współpracę i dzieli się doświadczeniem zdobytym podczas realizacji projektów. 🔹 W spotkaniu wzięło udział blisko 90 uczestników z 27 krajów. Celem był tzw. networking czyli umożliwienie nawiązania kontaktów z międzynarodowymi instytucjami w działających w zakresie sportu i edukacji. 🔹 Podczas wydarzenia przedstawiono wiele ciekawych prezentacji w zakresie skuteczności realizacji projektów dotowanych przez instytucje europejskie np. Komisja Europejska. Skupiono się na trwałości realizowanych projektów. Badania wykazały, że jedynie 15-20% projektów finansowanych przez UE kontynuuje swoją działalność po zakończeniu okresu objętym dotacją. 🔹 Przedstawiono wiele pomysłów na pozyskanie środków w celu kontynuacji projektów EU. Między innymi przybliżono pojęcie "Social Franchising", czyli komercyjne zastosowanie wiedzy i umiejętności zdobytych podczas realizacji projektów w celu osiągnięcia celów korzystnych społecznie. Praktycznym przykładem był projekt skupiający się na organizacji zajęć sportowych dla dzieci w parkach miejskich. Animatorzy realizujący zajęcia stworzyli plan dobrych praktyk, który jest kontynuowany i propagowany podczas szkoleń w różnych włoskich miastach. 🔹 Podczas spotkania udostępniono listę podmiotów które są chętne do udziału w realizacji projektów międzynarodowych w roli partnera. Instytut Rozwoju Sportu i Turystyki chętnie udostępni zainteresowanym osobom listę kontaktów do NGO działających w Europie. #irsie #sport #edukacja #EUSportLab #projektyeuropejskie

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀: 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲? Last week in Brussels, we concluded the #Schoolyards4Sport Ambassador Training, and I’m thrilled to share one key takeaway: the incredible interest generated not only among participants from partner countries but also from municipalities across Europe. 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴. This enthusiasm reinforces the real potential of #Schoolyards4Sport to transform underused schoolyards into inclusive, multifunctional sports spaces. But it also raises an important question: 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙛𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜? Too often, we see great ideas and impactful projects fade away because they are tied to the timeline of their grants. This is not just a missed opportunity; it’s a failure to maximize the potential of European collaboration. What if sustainability wasn’t just an add-on in project design, but the starting point? At Schoolyards4Sport, we aim to make this a reality by focusing on creating models that municipalities can adopt, replicate, and sustain long after the funding ends. The interest shown by participants in Brussels tells me this is possible—but only if we, as project leaders, make sustainability a core priority from the very beginning. What do you think? The Ericeira Surf Clube Innovation and Sustainability Department participated in the EUSport Lab 2024, in Milan, to train organisations from 23 countries on how to potentiating European Structural Funding Mechanisms and #EurofundingProgrammes to leverage investments in #sport projects with social impact and in territorial development strategies focused on #sportsinnovation, in alignment with the priorities and objectives of the European Commission #ShareInitiative 2.0 platform (https://lnkd.in/e53w3abX).
